THE  PREDACIOUS  DIVING  BEETLE  The  predacious  diving  beetle  is  a  type  of  macro  invertebrate  that  lives  in  the  wetlands.  

 

The  predacious  diving  beetle  has  2  antennae  and  has  6  legs  and  an  oval  shaped  body.  It  also  has  a  green  and  brown  colour.  

I  think  it  might  be  slimey  or  wet.  

 

The  predacious  diving  beetle  lives  in  the  surface  zone.  It  likes  to  swim  in  the  surface  zone  because  that  is  where  his  family  lives.

Water Boatman

The water boatman is an aquatic macro invertebrate that lives in the wetland.

Water boatmen have six legs and an oval shaped body which is green and has brown spots. It is a smooth hard texture. The water boat man is very small but visible by human eye.

The Water boatman breathes under water by carrying a bubble of air under its wing.

It has 6 legs and it’s shaped like an oval. The water boatman is tiny but you can see it with your eye. Some of them are very quick. Water Boatmen have big black eyes. It is browny, greeny gold. Water Boatmen have lots of hairs on their legs.

The Water Boatman would live in all types of aquatic habitats in the deep zone.

It  has  3  tails.  The  tail  is  straight  and  furry.    It  also  has  two  antennae  on  its  head.  It  has  six  legs  and  is  shaped  like  a  rectangle.  It  is  grey.  It  is  rough  and  hard.  

   

The  Mayfly  Larvae  lives  in  the  sub-­‐state  zone.

The  Copepod  is  a  type  of  Macro  invertebrate  that  lives  in  the  wetlands.  

 

The  Copepod  has  two  antennas  on  top  of  its  head  to  help  it  know  where  it  is  going.  The  Copepod  is  very  slimy  and  is  really  hard  to  pick  up.  The  Copepod  is  an  oval  shaped  macro  invertebrate  and  it  is  blue  and  has  six  legs.  You  can  see  the  Coped  with  your  own  eyes.

The  Non-­‐biting  Midge  Larva  looks  like  it  has  two  heads  and  nine  legs,  also  lots  of  hair  and  eleven  sections.  The  Non-­‐biting  Midge  Larva  has  a  cylindrical  body  and  has  skin  or  scales.  The  Non-­‐biting  Midge  Larva  is  macro  so  you  can  still  see  it.  The  Non-­‐biting  Midge  larva  is  red.                      

The  non-­‐biting  Midge  Larva  lives  in  the  Benthic  zone  (at  the  bottom  of  the  wetland).
