The specification data as described below make thisspecification project specific and shall have precedence in the interpretation of any ambiguity or inconsistency between ths specification and these standards.

MASONRY: SANS 2001-CM1: All bricks to be sprayed moist before laying and to course at 85mm. All walls, including cavity walls, to be reinforced with brickforce every 5th course. Butterfly ties to cavity walls every 5th course at1000 mm centres, but every 3rd course at cavity closures. All Dpc's at floor levels, cills and vertical cavity closures 375 micron "Brickgrip" stepped where applicable. Plaster applied to brickwork to be kept moist for 3 days after rendering but moisture content of all walls to bemeasured and acceptable before application of any paint finishes. Surfaces of plastered brickwork and concrete to be prepared in accordancewith specifications and requirements of the paint manufacturer.
