Ronak Sharma Automatic Control & Systems Engineering. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #WeAreInternational I am Ronak Sharma and I am a third year MEng Computer Systems Engineering with Year in Industry. I am from New Delhi, the capital city of India. Apart from engineering, I am also passionate about music for which I have obtained a degree in an Indian Classical Instrument called ‘Tabla’. I was also fortunate enough to be offered the India Undergraduate Merit Scholarship which has always motivated me to challenge myself and improve my performance. With the future technology moving towards programming and controlling machines autonomously, I felt that ‘Computer Systems’ provided the best combination of programming, electronics, and mechanics. Also, I was very intrigued by the Modern Control Theory as it is being heavily used in almost every industry ranging from automotive to aviation. I chose ACSE because of my interest to learn skills that combine programming and electronics. ACSE offered this combination in Computer Systems which also includes Controls Theory making it a discipline focusing on future technology. The degree itself is quite diverse and has provided me with flexible skills that can be applied in various engineering industries. Both ACSE and University played a crucial role in helping me settle in. During the intro week, ACSE organised a Lego Robot competition which introduced me to my course and gave me the opportunity to make friends. With talks from Industry people and coursework based around working on real systems, helped me to adapt to this new education system. All ACSE staff are very friendly and I was surprised how easily I could contact a lecturer. Overall, the University provided me the opportunity to join from over more than 300 societies, so I could make new friends and give something back to the University. My time at the University has been quite enriching, both academically and socially. One of the best things about this university are the various opportunities it has provided me to grow and develop myself. The University offers various technical projects apart from just the degree through which I have been able to hone my skills and see how my knowledge from the degree can be applied to real life systems like cars and aircraft. Being an engineering student, I never had experienced the management side of an industry and so University provided me with various platforms to develop and experience these skills. The University more than just being a center to achieve academic excellence has helped me to grow and develop myself overall. These experiences were also valued during my interview for placements.

I am Ronak Sharma and I am a third year MEng Computer Systems Engineering with Year in Industry.

I chose ACSE because of my interest to learn skills that

combine programming and electronics.
