Indian Resources Development (IRD)
Goals as defined by NM Statue
• To assist in the education and training of New Mexico Native American students through practical on-the-job opportunities and work experience programs in agricultural sciences, engineering sciences and management
• To work with Native American Tribes in New Mexico in developing their agricultural, natural, energy, recreational, and management resources to promote their economicself-sufficiency

As mandated by the Statue, an Advisory Committee made up of representatives from the Jicarilla and Mescalero Apache Tribes, the all pueblo Council, and the Navajo Nation, was put in place to work with the Director of the program.
IRD team: Interim Director, Program Specialist , 2 student aids
The program priorities for each goal have been defined and the staff and students are working to advance the two goals.
Funding for this program comes directly from the NM Legislature.
