FISH BITES The Marlins conclude a six-game road swing with the finale of this three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at 12:37 p.m. RHP Tom Koehler is making his first career start and appearance against Toronto, coming in with a 4-2 record and 5.01 ERA in nine previous Interleague starts. The Marlins opened their current trip in Denver, taking two of three from the Colorado Rockies. Following this afternoons contest, Miami will return to Marlins Park for a four-game series against Colorado starting tomorrow, followed by a four-game home-and-home series against the New York Yankees. VS. THE BLUE JAYS The last time these two teams met was in 2012, when the Blue Jays took two of three from the Marlins at Marlins Park from June 22-24. The Marlins last trip to Rogers Centre was in 2009, when the Fish came away with a three-game sweep. The Marlins are 10-4 in Toronto, having won five of the last seven at Rogers Centre, and have gone 18-8 against the Jays all-time. UP NEXT Miami will open a four-game home series against the Colorado Rockies tomorrow night beginning at 7:10 p.m. The Marlins and Rockies just finished a three-game series in Denver over the weekend, with the Fish taking two of three. The Fish lead the all-time series against the Rox, 93-88, which includes a 55-33 mark in Miami (6-4 at Marlins Park). LAST NIGHT The Marlins banged out 10 hits, including two home runs from Giancarlo Stanton and one from Christian Yelich, but came away on the wrong side of a 4-3 decision to the Toronto Blue Jays. Stanton started the scoring with his 20 th home run of the season in the first, and Yelich gave the Fish a two-run cushion in the fourth with his third long ball of the year. Toronto tied it in the fourth on a pair of sac flies, but Stanton struck again in the seventh to break the tie with another solo shot, marking his third multi-homer game of the season and 16 th of his career. A.J. Ramos was brought in to close it out, but after a leadoff single and a strikeout, Edwin Encarnacion walked the Blue Jays off winners with a homer to center. J.T. Realmuto paced the Marlins with three hits, while Stanton finished 2x3. Dan Haren provided an exceptional start, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out seven and walking none over 7.0 innings. Ramos (0-1) suffered his first loss in almost two years, his last having been on July 29, 2013 vs. the Mets. 6 TO ONE, HALF DOZEN TO ANOTHER With his first home run of the game last night, Giancarlo Stanton became the seventh player in Major League history to have six seasons of 20+ home runs through the age of 25. The last player to have such a streak was Alex Rodriguez from 1996 to 2001. See complete list, provided by ESPN Stats & Info, below at right. RAMOS’ RUN A.J. Ramos suffered his first loss last night since July 29, 2013, going a total of 119 appearances between setbacks. He is the second reliever this season to have a streak of 119+ games between losses come to an end, as Eric O’Flaherty took his first loss in 129 games on April 17. Ramos’ streak was by far the longest in Marlins history, with Taylor Tankersley owning the second-longest at just 70 games from May 14, 2007 to May 10, 2008. Michael Tejera had a streak of 73 relief appearances without a loss for the Marlins, from Sept. 11, 1999 to Sept. 24, 2003, but suffered 11 losses as a starter over that span. INTERLEAGUE NOTES The Fish are 3-5 in Interleague Play in 2015 and have gone 165-153/.519 all-time against the American League, which is the third-best IL winning percentage among NL Clubs, behind the Mets (160-147/.521) and Braves (158-146/.520). The Marlins’ 165 Interleague wins are the most among NL Clubs; the Mets and Nationals are tied for second with 160. All-time in Interleague Play, Miami leads all NL offenses in runs scored (1,460), hits (2,829), doubles (579) and RBI (1,381). Tom Koehler makes his fifth straight start today, his 12th of the season, after a brief bullpen stint. He is coming off a 2014 season that saw him go 10-10 with a 3.81 ERA in 32 starts. Led entire staff in strikeouts with 153, while ranking second in ERA behind Henderson Alvarez’s 2.65 (min. 15 starts) and second in innings pitched (191.1) behind Nathan Eovaldi (199.2).

He is making his first career appearance against the Blue Jays. It will be his 10th career start and appearance in Interleague Play, with a 4-2, 5.01 (50.1 ip/28 er) record.

Has a four-game winning streak in Interleague Play, coming over the course of his last five starts against the American League. Over that span, he has posted a 4.67 ERA (27.0/14).

Koehler opened the season by going 2-3, 4.62 (39.0/20) in seven starts. Was moved to bullpen and made just one appearance, on May 16 vs. Atlanta (3.0 ip, 2 h, 0 r). Returned to the rotation after that outing and has gone 2-0, 2.70 (23.1/7) in four starts since.

In his last start, on June 5 at Colorado, he tied his season high with six strikeouts on the way to his fourth win of the campaign. Also had six punchouts on May 1 vs. Philadelphia, but did not earn a decision in that outing.

Recorded four straight starts to open the 2014 season with at least 6.0 innings and no more than two runs allowed. That tied Kevin Brown (1997) for the Club record for consecutive starts of 6.0 innings and two-or-fewer runs to open a season, ac-cording to STATS LLC.

Went 3-2, 1.99 through first seven starts, while teammate Jose Fernandez went 4-1, 1.74. Became first teammates in Club history to have winning records with ERA under 2.00 through first seven starts.

Finished season with 2.81 ERA (102.1 ip/32 er) vs. NL East, the fifth-best mark among his division counterparts (min. 15 GS), behind Henderson Alvarez (2.20), Cole Hamels (2.43), Julio Teheran (2.50) and Jordan Zimmermann (2.59). Had a 4.96 ERA (89.0/49) vs. all other teams.

On May 7, 2014 at Marlins Park, tied a career high with 8.0 innings pitched against the New York Mets. Also went 8.0 innings on May 29, 2013 vs. Tampa Bay and September 15, 2013 at Citi Field.

Recorded first career 10-strikeout game September 3, 2014 vs. Mets at Marlins Park. Eclipsed previous best of eight done three times, last on June 21, 2014 against Mets at Marlins Park.
