Descriptions of all rocks kits available for loan (new and old) are provided below, as well as order number and photos of each item. Classroom Rock Collection (Rocks, Minerals and Gemstones) 06171 This set of 75 labeled rock specimens includes igneous, sedimentary rocks, metamorphic rocks, ores of metals and nonmetals, and rock forming minerals. Includes teacher guide with rock descriptions and rock cycle illustrations and charts. Fossil Kit: Plant and Rock Fossils 06166 Contains a set of lesson plans and 11 plaster casts of various marine plant and rock fossils from several different eras, including the Silurian Era, Permian Era, Mississippian Era, Jurassic Era, and others. Fossils include: blastoid, calamite, cordaite, crinoid stem, fern, leaves, petrified wood, trilobite, and more. ** NEW ** Investigating Minerals and Rocks Charts 06180 Contains 93 of the Earth’s most common rocks and minerals, organized into a chart that helps students learn their classifications, based on composition or how they are formed. The "Metamorphic Rock Chart" demonstrates the process by which a parent rock or mineral can change to a new form, as well as the relationship of metamorphic to igneous and sedimentary rocks. The "Igneous Rock Chart" displays the origin, texture, composition, and interrelationships of igneous rocks. The "Sedimentary Rock Chart" displays the three main classifications of sedimentary rock: clastic, chemical and organic. Provides three 24x18 framed charts with rock samples.

** NEWEST ** Rocks (Sedimentary, Igneous, Metamorphic) Model 08085 Contains 3 sets of rock samples (15 each igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary), as well as guides for each set of rocks. The guides identify each rock and provide information about their formation and qualities.

Rocks, Minerals and Fossils of Iowa (Model) 06046 Wooden case (18" x 25") displays 24 rocks. Each is numbered and identified. Samples include: petrified wood, lime condreation, calcite crystals, petrified bone, quartz, hermatite, fossil limestone, geodes, bacculite, coral, unakite, and thers. No teacher guide; students do research.

Rocks, Minerals, and Gemstones of the U.S 06094 Contains a collection of 100 examples of rocks, minerals, and gemstones with a guide for easy identification.

** NEWEST ** Rocks and Minerals (Model with Books) 08081 Contains 3 books and 8 types of rocks, with approximately 10 samples of each type of rock, for hands-on Exploration and comparison.
