collaborated with the project team to develop a master plan for the nanjing qinglong lake project (nanjing, china), and helped guide the visual style of the final hand-rendered master plan spearheaded the schematic design process for nanjing qinglong lakes lakeside park through a series of precedents, analysis, and design sketches led the design effort for the jinjiang wang cuo projects (jinjiang, china) signature public space, the crescent plaza, contributing precedents, sketches, an overall grading scheme, paving plan, and planting strategy, and all associated details (under construction) directed the design of the nanjing golf clubhouse motor court, courtyard, and rear terrace from schematic through design development

This treaty also authorizes the two countries to construct operate and maintain dams on the main channel of the Rio Grande, entrusts the IBWC to give preferential attention to the solution of all border disputes and sanitation issues.
1964 BORDER INDUSTRIALIZATION MAQUILADORA PROGRAM - MEXICAN GOVERNMENT - ECONOMYLess than a year after the end of the Bracero Program, the Mexican Government launches the Border Industrialization Program (BIP) or the Maquiladora Program, to solve the problem of rising unemployment along the border. This massive border industry is created in 1964, and dominates the industrial makeup of the 2,000-mile border between the US and Mexico.
1983 LA PAZ AGREEMENT DETERMINES 100km BORDER REGION - US AND MEXICAN GOVERNMENTS - BORDERThe US and Mexico determine that the border region extends 62.5 miles (100 kilometers) on each side of the international border.
1991 TEXAS CLEAN RIVERS ACT - TEXAS STATE LEGISLATURE - WATER QUALITYThe Texas Legislature passes the Texas Clean Rivers Act in response to growing concerns that water resource issues are not being pursued in an integrated, systematic manner. The act requires that ongoing water quality assessments be conducted for each river basin in Texas, an approach that integrates water quality and water quantity issues within a river basin, or watershed.

2006SECURE FENCE ACT OF 2006 - US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT - BORDERThe Secure Fence Act of 2006s stated goal is to help secure Americas borders to decrease illegal entry, drug traicking, and security threats by building 700 miles (1,100 km) of physical barriers along the Mexico-United States border. Additionally, the law authorizes more vehicle barriers, checkpoints, and lighting as well as authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to increase the use of advanced technology like cameras, satellites, and unmanned aerial vehicles to reinforce infrastructure at the border.
2012BORDER 2012 PROGRAM INITIATED - US EPA - REGULATIONThe EPA launches the US-Mexico Environmental Program - Border 2012, a collaboration between the US and Mexico to improve the environment and protect the health of the nearly 12 million people living along the border. The bi-national program focuses on cleaning the air, providing safe drinking water, reducing the risk of exposure to hazardous waste, and ensuring emergency preparedness along the US-Mexico border.
2001 RIO GRANDE FAILS TO REACH THE GULF OF MEXICO - WATER MANAGEMENTA 328-foot (100 m) wide sandbar forms at the mouth of the river, marking the first time in recorded history that the Rio Grande fails to empty into the Gulf of Mexico.
1938 RIO GRANDE COMPACT - COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, AND TEXAS STATE LEGISLATURES - WATER MANAGEMENTEquitably apportions waters of the Rio Grande Basin between Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. The table worked out provides for Colorado and New Mexico to deliver water in accord with a formula based upon the flow of the Rio Grande and its tributaries at designated gauging stations above the state lines.
1922 COLORADO RIVER COMPACT - US AND MEXICAN GOVERNMENTS - WATER MANAGEMENTThe Law of the River enables widespread irrigation of the lower division states (Nevada, Arizona, California).

THE FORGOTTEN REACH: a transboundary water strategy for the arid rio grande/ro bravothis project operates on the assumption that wastewater can be a valuable commodity when used to irrigate woody crops for pulpwood production in a co-operative plan. using the watershed as a model to rethink the border as an expanded zone rather than as a dimensionless line allows water to become a tool in mediating environmental and social issues.
