R&M Motors HistoryR&M Motors was established in 1967, at 267 Broadway indowntown Berlin. In the beginning, Richard worked on milktrucks for Alto Dairy and agricultural equipment for localfarmers. Karen took care of all office work for the businessfrom home. In 1980, R&M expanded to their current loca-tion, just a mile north of Berlin on Highway 49.

SERVICEIn today’s world, buyers have many avenues availableto purchase products, but most places selling theseproducts have substandard Service Departments orpossibly no service at all. Like the R&M Motors’ logostates, their backbone has always been “OutstandingService.” R&M’s friendly and efficient, factory trainedtechnicians are there to complete any necessary war-ranty work and provide superior service for all brandsthey sell. R&M uses an appointment scheduling sys-tem that provides you with same day service for mostroutine maintenance and predictable completion datesfor large repairs. We offer pick up and delivery ser-vices for everything we sell.

PARTSR&M’s Parts Department carries all routine mainte-nance products and common parts for the products wesell. We also have a wide variety of ATV & Lawn Trac-tor accessories on hand. After more than 30 years inthe business, we have developed the contacts andproduct knowledge to locate even the hardest-to-findparts in a timely manner.

In the early 1980’s, R&M started selling new equipment aswell as used. R&M’s main lines included the German-madeDeutz tractors and hay equipment as well as Mustangskidloaders. R&M now stocks parts for all of the new equip-ment they sell and an assortment of parts for many otherbrands.

In the early 1990’s, R&M saw many changes; Deutz pur-chased Allis Chalmers, and now R&M was able to sell theDeutz-Allis lawn and garden tractors, built by Simplicity.Up to this point, the building had been all shop with a fewsmall offices in the front. A showroom was now needed todisplay the lawn and garden equipment. Offices were ex-panded, a large parts counter was added and more partsstorage was created. In 1996, R&M had the opportunity totake on Massey Ferguson tractors and Hesston Hay equip-ment. To better serve the customer, that year R&M hadimplemented a business computer system with on-line andCD parts look-up capability. In 1998 R&M became a HondaATV dealer. Yamaha ATVs, snowmobiles and utility vehicleswere added in 2006.

Over the years, R&M has become a full line, full service dealerrepresenting many different brands and services. As the R&MMotors logo states, “a tradition of quality and outstandingservice,” R&M believes in selling quality products, with theservice to back up the sale. After more than three decades,R&M Motors remains a family business. In addition to thefactory trained staff, a member of the Moriarty family is in-volved in each department; Rich and Pat are both in Sales,Jon in Service and Karen in the Office.
