Dear Neighbour,

Riverside News

Kier Construction

Issue 2 - March 2018

What’s been happening at Riverside

Since our first news letter we have been removing

the remnants of the previous buildings from the

ground. As the structures where of an industrial

nature this has proven to be no small undertaking.

With very heavy walls and piles buried throughout

the plot.

It is now clear.

All the concrete, bricks, tarmac and other solid

demolition rubble produced as a result of this

removal has been put through an on site crusher to

reduce it to reusable material. This material has

subsequently been put to use as a ground Mat for

the 22 ton piling rig that is now on site. The rig will

now drive in in-excess of 300 concrete piles into the

soft ground down to supporting strata below, this

ranges from 12 to 18 meters deep.

These piles will carry the slabs onto which the new

buildings will be stood.

Planned Works March to April

• Complete all Piling

• Establish full site accommodation and welfare set up.

• Begin forming Carpark and permanent access road.

• Begin Drainage and Attenuation tank works.

Ground bearing slab to

main block due to be cast

June 2018

Welcome to our second news letter.

Those of you who have looked into the

site will have noted some very large

pieces of kit being deployed to condition

and level the plot during the last 6

weeks. Lots of big boys toys doing

sterling work in very trying conditions.

Kier News leer : Keeping you informed.
