HISTORY

ISCOM (ISolanti e COperture Menegoli — Insulation and Roofi ng Menegoli) was founded in 1964. In 1970 we focused on roofi ng and cladding in metal corrugated sheets and were amongst Italy’s pioneers in the use aluminum alloys for roofi ng and facades.

Our on-going quest for a roofi ng system that would solve the problems inherent in traditional metal roofi ng led in 1987 to the innovative Riverclack system, a revolution in roofi ng technology.

Riverclack quickly established itself in the market as ‘the fl at metal roofi ng system’, setting the standard for quality and reliability.

Half a century on, ISCOM is today a thriving international concern. Across the world, countless buildings enjoy the protection and beauty of Riverclack systems. From airports, shopping centers and stadiums to small industrial and residential buildings.

THE AMAZINGROOFINGQUALITIES /OF ALUMINUMALLOY 5754

By adding magnesium one of aluminum’stoughest alloys was created: alloy 5754. Lightand strong, the aluminum-magnesium alloy5754 is widely used in aircraft, automotive andcontainer applications. Its excellent resistanceto atmospheric and seawater corrosion make it ideally suited to severe marine environments,where it performs far better than 3000 alloys.

What better material for a roofi ng system?

But the outstanding qualities of alloy 5754 used at its H18 temper mean nothing if youcan’t exploit them. Over three decades,Riverclack® has evolved the expertise and

know-how to achieve the perfect balance oftoughness and ductility in alloy 5754 H18, aswell as the capability to profi le this alloy to create Riverclack® unique properties. FULLY WALKABLE

Alloy 5754 H18 allows you to walk on a Riverclack roof without it aff ecting in any way its metal surface. Riverclack® sheets have in fact been tested for walkability under laboratory conditions: continual application and release of increasing point loads onto Riverclack® sheets via a rubber-clad piston simulating constant foot traffi c demonstrated a resistance to incredibly high point loads of up to almost 400Kg.

The Riverclack secret-fi x standing seam metal roof system has proven itself in the world’s most challenging climatic conditions.

LIGHTNING FASTINSTALLATION

No installation machinery, no drilling. The unique Riverclack high-tensile geometric locking action system is installed simply by foot pressure on the purpose-built resin clip.And no laborious, time-consuming pre-assembly of clips: their position, on the spacer system beneath, is progressively set during the installation of the sheets.

The speed with which you install Riverclack can deliver major savings during construction and help you achieve an earlier project completion date.

Our solid-engineered clip allows for sheet thermal movement without any abrasion and guarantees outstanding wind suction load resistance. Moreover, the clip’s resin-based material means it forms an effi cient thermal and electric break between the roof and the structure beneath.

THE AIRBAG TEST

Under laboratory conditions, Riverclack® sheets underwent uniformly distributed load uplift tests. The sheets were installed on a test rig and a purpose-designed plastic airbag then progressively infl ated under the sheets to simulate the eff ects of a wind vortex passing over the roof. The 7kN/m2 uplift load achieved are largely attributable to the unique side lap detail which ensure that, as more load is applied, the sheet simply “claws” more tightly into the clip.


THE DRAINAGE CHANNEL / A RUN-AWAY SUCCESS

The drainage channel is one of the key features of Riverclack® that really sets it apart from the competition.

In storm conditions, water can slow or come to a standstill as it runs off the roof. With nowhere to go, the water level then rises and the profi le is quickly submerged.

A WATERTIGHT CASE

In a hugely demanding test for any product, a pool was built using Riverclack®550 — with no additional side lap sealants — as the pool’s base. The pool was then fi lled with water, completely submerging the Riverclack®. The Riverclack® was then left submerged for 45 days. During which time not one single drop of water leaked through. When the test rig was fi nally dismantled, even the integral drainage channel in the sheets was found to contain just a few drops of water.

But with Riverclack® this is never a problem. The drainage channel captures any water that might penetrate the side lap and runs it away to the gutter, eliminating the risk of leaks into the building.

CURVED AND TAPERED SHEETS/THE VERSATILITY YOU NEED

Riverclack® straight sheets are self-bending down to a radius of 25m. Adapting perfectly to the shape of your roof surface without any additional operation or costs. A machine smooth curving process is available to accommodate smaller radiuses. Depending on the material (aluminum, copper, titan zinc or stainless steel) and thickness, radiuses of 3m are achievable in a convex confi guration and 8m in a concave confi guration.

You can even apply a combination of convex and concave shapes, and multiple radiuses, all to a single length of sheet. The crimp curving process allows for radiuses as lowas 1.5m in a convex shape. Thanks to the new generation of rolling mills, which can be equipped with a tapering kit, Riverclack® also off ers the option of continuous length tapered and custom-width sheets, even on-site. The minimum width at the sheet’s end is 170mm, the maximum 540mm.

Tapered sheets are just as self-bending as our straight sheets, and can also be machine curved.

Where panels are too long to be produced at our factories and then transported to the construction site, we provide on-site forming and curving.On-site forming and curving can also be your smartest option when the size of your project would otherwise require numerous deliveries to site, increasing transport costs and your project’s CO

2 emissions.

And on-site production does not mean compromising. Because whatever the location, the Riverclack® secret-fi x roofi ng system is produced to the same high standards. In the factory or on-site, Riverclack is rolled on a fully-engineered factory specifi cation production unit. All production units are equipped with test rigs and the system’s performance is thoroughly checked at the start of each production batch.

Riverclack® off ers a variety of site production methods, from ground level rolling to ramp rolling. The latest Riverclack forming units can also be set for eaves level rolling, which reduces the number of steps in the handling process.

STAINLESS STEEL

A highly resilient material that hardly thins at all over time. Stainless steel is the ideal choice if total resistance to corrosion is a priority. In high-corrosive industrial environments, for example. Or simply when you’re looking for great value in a very attractive material.

TITAN ZINC

Titan Zinc has a very distinctive aesthetic quality thanks to its beautiful grey patina. It is malleable and so, unlike any other Riverclack® metals, requires a rigid back support to allow walkability.

ALLUMINIUM ALLOY 5754

Light, Strong and Rustproof, this is your most cost-eff ective solution. In contact with air, aluminum rapidly becomes covered with a tough, transparent layer of aluminum oxide that resists further corrosive action, giving your roof an extremely long lifespan. It is used in the physical state H18/19 which has an outstanding mechanical resistance to both foot traffi c and hail.

COPPER

An elegant metal that is also highly corrosion resistant. Copper develops a “patina” when it weathers, turning it from golden brown to its unique and aesthetically striking blue-green shade.

A SELECT CHOICE OF SELECT METALS

In addition to the superior aluminum alloy 5754 – with its guaranteed unrivalled corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and cost-eff ectiveness – Riverclack® is also available in Copper, Stainless Steel, Titan Zinc or Pre-painted Galvanized Steel. All metals are certifi ed and come from fi rst order suppliers. But, being Riverclack, we still subject every single metal coil to further testing before we use it for Riverclack®. Checking crucial parameters such as tensile strength, Brinnel hardness and yield point to ensure full conformity with the strict manufacturing requirements of Riverclack®.

Embossing is a unique stucco pattern that, besides its aesthetic qualities, helps reduce glare, an important issue with airports and buildings near highways or busy roads.

SRI (Solar Refl ectance Index) measures a material’s ability to reject solar heat. Especially in warm climates, SRI coatings help cool the roof and reduce “heat island eff ect”. A high SRI coating can also help earn LEED® credits. THINK ZINC

A unique self-weathering zinc in a pre-coated aluminum. Zinc particles in the top-coat allow the coating to change color over time from an initial light grey to a darker, naturally weathered fi nish.

THE INFINITE VARIETY OF LIGHT

These pigments can refl ect their own color or that of the base coat. This on-going re-fl ection and refraction creates fascinating color variation that continuously changes depending on the viewing angle and light.

Back in 1999, this commitment inspired ISCOM to build its own fully equipped test facility. The “Laboratorio”, as it is fondly known, has test benches for wind uplift, water tightness, air tightness and concentrated load, plus a wide range of instruments for material checks that are all periodically calibrated and maintained according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2000.

The “laboratorio” is also at the heart of the work of our cutting-edge R&D department. Providing quick, reliable performance feedback as we strive to perfect our latest innovations.
