The Adventure

Canyon Adventure Bike ParkWhite Canyon TubingThis is our highly innovative aerial adventure, within the amazing White Canyon.

15 spectacular platforms: 6 natural rock bases and...9 of them cantilevered from the vertical rock walls.4 vertical via ferratas, a pendulum & a Tarzan swing5 carbon fiber zip-lines. These are very quiet, very strong, and they wont conduct a current during our rare lighting storms.

The Rio Perdido adventure team…Among CR’s most respected professionals. Conscious receptiveness to the needs of all adventurers. A strict, “safety first” policy that is apparent from the get-go.

This one-of-a-kind experience, designed and engineered by Latin America’s most respected adventure firm on what they consider to be the most spectacular setting that they have had the pleasure to work on. The voyage takes you from deep within the narrow canyon into The Convergence, where the hot waters of Rio Perdido and the Yurro Waterfall both meet the cool waters of the White Canyon. You then ascend well above Costa Rica’s only Dwarf Forest and get spectacular views of the Miravalles Volcano’s rocky lowlands. To accomplish this epic voyage, you will zip down state-of-the-art carbon fiber cables, swing on a human pendulum and a Tarzan swing, cross the wobbly challenge bridge, and climb several via ferratas.

In its short existence, the bike park has already drawn the attention of champs like Manny Prado and Paolo Montoya, as well as U.S. Olympian and MTB legend, Marla Streb. That being said, it also attracts novice riders that want to experience one of the best singletrack circuits in the world. Over 15 miles (24km) of track take riders through a surprisingly varied topography that includes solid rock (not very common in Central America), winding trails in the Dwarf Forest, swinging valleys, short but inspiring downhills (200-600ft long), stream crossings, bridges, and panoramic lookouts that offer breathtaking views of the canyonlands.

We offer avid riders the opportunity to rent brand new Lapierre bikes, including the double suspension XControl, with high quality components. Prices range from 25 to $40 per day for the bikes. Trail fees are $12 per rider, per day. Please check our website or call reception for more details.

“Nature’s very own water slide” - as one of our guests called our Cañón Blanco or White Canyon…

From the get-go, we knew that the Rio Perdido experience would not be complete without navigating the quick and sinuous currents of this mysterious river. By doing so on an inner-tube, we curb our desire to dominate the waters and thus let the river take us at its own rhythm and whim. This short but sweet adventure is certain to bring out everyone’s joyous inner child.
