Rim Station was originally built as a store and gas station with construction beginning in 1948. The historic log struction was well built, and has been updated and meticulously maintained.

Owner Comment May 2019: Right now we have 5 monthly rentals. Most of our rentals are overnight and most are booked within a week of their visit or drop-ins at the end of the day. Right now I have approximately 20 or so reservations starting in June going clear through September. I would say our nightly rentals are the most common. Every year is different. With the construction in Jackson and the lack of affordable rent, we have no-ticed that we are getting more interest in our monthly rates.

SUBJECT: Rim Station C-Store/RV Park
To Whom It May Concern:
The Rim Station was built and first operated as a store/service station in 1950. It operated continuously until the mid 80’s.
My wife Cheri and I bought the Rim Property in 1992. We operated our construction busi-ness and various other businesses from this location until 2008 when we renovated the store and built the 12 unit RV Park. We opened the store for business in June of 2009 and com-pleted and started renting out RV spaces in October of 2009.
We operate the store from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily May 1st through October 14th.
While it might be a good idea to expand the operating hours we have so far chosen not to do so. We have been trying to run the business without hiring employees.
We hold a Malt Beverage License that is renewed annually by the Sublette County Commis-sioners. This license allows us to sell beer and other malt beverages. We have not applied for a hard liquor license but may do so in the future. We have had no violations of any kind on either the sale of malt beverages or the sale of tobacco products. We anticipate no problems in maintaining our current license status and stand a good chance of getting a full retail (hard liquor and wine in addition to beer) license in the future if we choose to go that route.
In addition to the variety of items available in the C-Store, we sell propane, offer a sewer dump station for RV’s and offer emergency services for travelers. We are located on US Highway 189/191 approximately 29 miles north of Pinedale, WY and approximately 45 miles south of Jackson Hole. Our western property boundary adjoins the Bridger Teton National Forest. The forest offers opportunities for hiking, cross country skiing, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling directly from the property. Along with local traffic, travelers that are coming from or heading to Rock Springs, WY at Interstate 80 or Evanston, WY at Interstate 80 come by our place.

We built the shop in 1999. The 4450 square foot shop offers many possibilities for expanding the business. Some uses that fall into our zoning allowances are towing service, vehicle ser-vice, gas and diesel sales, horse rentals, etc. The shop has a 166 square foot office/living quar-ters and full bath that could be used for employee housing or as an office. The shop has fully insulated 8” walls, a 16’ ceiling that is fully insulated, two 20’ x 14’ sectional overhead garage doors and three 3’ wide entry doors. The shop has its own septic tank and drainfield. The shop and office can either be heated with the wood stove or electric heat. Both heating sys-tems are fully operational and capable of heating the building.
The main log structure that houses the store and living quarters has 2905’ upstairs and 3540’ of basement area. We put a new roof on the main building a few years after we bought the place and have continued to upgrade the plumbing, wiring, etc. over the years. Just prior to open-ing the store in June of 2009, we installed new windows in the entire structure and completely rewired the store. The store, residence and the shop share a 400 amp electrical service while the RV Park has its own 600 amp service. The house and shop share a water well while the RV Park has its own well. Either well is capable of handling the entire operation.
The store/shop/residence well has a 6” casing, is 65’ deep and produces 25 gallons per minute. It was drilled in 1990. The RV Park well has an 8” casing, is 75’ deep, produces 24 gallons per minute, and was drilled in 2009. Both wells have excellent water.
