Lloyd’s Register Energy - Drilling’s Rig Inspection Workshop teaches the inspection and maintenance procedures required to ensure equipment integrity on land rigs. Candidates learn to implement the relevant standards and understand industry requirements so that they can verify the condition of a rig’s equipment and improve safety, thus reducing the number of accidents and protecting the asset. The workshop describes and explains the working principles of major drilling equipment using detailed examples from our technical inspection database. StructureThe Rig Inspection Workshop consists of three days of interactive classroom sessions with time for group participation and discussion. Additionally, we provide the candidates with the following: – a checklist format for major equipment

to assist with correct maintenance and inspections

– multiple examples of good and bad practices, including photos

– presentation of improvements and new designs of drilling equipment

– further explanation of the workshop manual

QualificationsUpon successful completion of the course, attendees receive a certificate of completion. This certificate is valid for five years. Attendees who score below 70% on the final exam receive a certificate of attendance.

DurationThe basic workshop is conducted over three days.

Additional modules may be added to the basic Rig Inspection Workshop to further develop attendees’ knowledge in specific areas. In addition, customized workshops can be created for individual companies. Educational pathAttendees who have completed the RigInspection Workshop and would like toexpand their knowledge are encouraged to attend other Training Academy courses and training programs.
