Proudly Canadian are t wo words that drove the programming choices for your 2017/2018 season. As we continue the 150th Celebration of the greatest country in the world, in the best community in the country, the R i c hmond H i l l C en t r e f o r t he P e r f o r ming A r t s i s honoured to present a season that captures the national mood of celebration. Artists from across the nation will include the RHCPA stage as part of their national tours, and we are proud to include performers from our own backyard as part of this celebration. It is a season that celebrates our country. It is a season that celebrates all genres of the per forming ar ts . I t is a season that embraces family, music, dance, theatre and comedy. It is a season that celebrates.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.

Michael Grit, Theatre Manager

Great things are happening at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts for everyone!

The lineup this season includes a variety of exciting performances, including acrobats, ballet, music, comedy, musical theatre acts, modern dance and many more.

If you prefer a more intimate setting, join in for Suite Thursdays, where the Plaza Suite at the theatre is transformed into York Region’s premiere cabaret space. You will enjoy performances by magicians, opera singers, cabaret and Broadway artists.

If you like testing your boundaries and stretching your imagination, get on stage with artists in the On!STAGE series where the audience becomes part of the performances.

There are a wide variety of family performances if you want to bring your little ones to spend a delightful afternoon watching their favourite character, such as Curious George come to life.

Continuing with last season’s Canadiana theme, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation, Canadian artists will be featured throughout the season, including a special performance by Jann Arden.

There’s nothing quite like live theatre - it engages your mind and is good for your soul!

Lemon Bucket OrkestraThursday, November 9, 2017 at 8 p.m.The Lemon Bucket Orkestra is Canada’s only balkan-klezmer-gypsy-party-punk-super-band. LBO has been nominated for several awards, heralded as ground-breaking by international media, and has performed at international festivals across the globe, but their greatest achievement is their ability to embody the dynamic space between “home” and “exotic” and to welcome audiences into the celebration of that space. $40
