Adult Summer Reading Program
Beginning June 7, adults ages 18 and up will be able to register for the
adult summer reading program. This year’s theme is Paws to Read.
Each registrant will receive a reusable Paws to Read tote filled with
themed goodies (while supplies last)! For every book that is read or
listened to from June 7 through July
26, participants can stop by the
library and have their names entered into a weekly drawing. Winners
of the weekly drawings will receive gift certificates donated by
Brunswick Zone, Muvico, Tucker’s on Grand, A-Theme Events,
McDonald’s and more!
Animal Food for Fines
In honor of our furry friends, starting June 2nd
, the library will be
accepting canned or other unopened animal food in exchange for fines.
Patrons can receive up to $5.00 off of overdue fines on River Grove
Library materials. 1 item of animal food= $1 off. All animal food
donations will go to the River Grove Food Pantry, which also carries
donated food for family pets.

Blankets for Animals Program
Join us at the River Grove Public Library on Saturday, June 28th
at 11:00 a.m. as we make cozy
blankets for sick and stray animals at the Elmwood-Grove Animal Hospital located in River Grove.
This program is designed for adults, but children are invited to help under the supervision of an adult!
DIY Miniature Succulent Gardens
Join us on Saturday, June 7th
at 1:00 p.m. as expert crafter Kathleen Obirek shows participants how to
create a miniature succulent garden. We will also be sculpting a small dog figurine for the garden as a
part of our Paws to Read summer theme.
This program is free of charge, but registration is required as space is limited.
Book Club
The Book Group pick for June is Quiet Dell by Jayne Anne Phillips. Join us for a lively discussion over cookies and tea on Monday, June 30, 7:00p.m.! Copies are available for pick-up at the library. Please register in person or by phone (708-453-4484), although drop-ins are welcome.
One-On-One Computer Classes Are you interested in learning how to use Microsoft Office programs or just want to know the basics of using email, uploading photos and more? No matter what your skill level or questions, the River Grove Library can help! The library will be offering free One-On-One Computer Classes by appointment on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please register for a 30-minute session in person or by phone (708-453-4484).

Hello Paw Pals! Join us at the River Grove Public Library for our Paws to Read Summer Read kick off on Saturday, June 14, between 11:00 and 2:30. Pick up your reading log and sign up for our Youth and Teen Summer Reading
programs! For more information about our Summer Reading Program for children, contact Mrs. Tucker. For tween and teen programming, contact Miss Maggie. Both can be reached at 708-453-4484.
For ages 2-4: On Thursdays (starting June 19th
) at 11:00 a.m., our pre-readers
are invited to our Summer Story Time Paw Pals program. Listen to a story about a special “Paw Pal”,
create a craft, and enjoy a small snack.
For ages 5-9: On Tuesdays and Wednesdays (starting June 17th
) at 12:30 p.m., children
are invited to become someone’s PAW PAL by reading to a friend, creating fun crafts, and learning
about how useful a “paw” can be.
For ages 10 and up: Pick up your reading log and follow your PAWS through a
reading adventure while earning special prizes. Stop by the library to sign up for special craft days just
for tweens and teens.
