Prayer produces an emotional positive experience, creates a feeling of unity and sacredness that bonds us together with God and with others. Prayer gives us a feeling of going beyond the ordinary. Prayer creates a feeling of having a moment that transcends our time into something special and meaningful. It becomes an emotional uplift that creates spiritual energy, increases self-love and love and respect for God and others. On this weekend, let us appreciate work and prayer – these two capabilities that are changing our world. On this Labor Day weekend, that is unique because of the coronavirus, let us keep in prayer our First Responders and those in the Medical Field who are helping us to survive during this pandemic.     There is a Latin saying “Ora et labora” that Benedict Monks say frequently. In English, it means “pray and work. These two words are significant because they define us: Who we are? Created by God, we are invited to creative work so the world and our Mother Earth – our home will look nicer, safer, and friendly and will produce food for all. From the beginning of written history until now we have made tremendous progress. We made the life of each other easier and we have more food to eat. Because of hard physi-cal and intellectual work, we went beyond our earth to the Moon and now are ready to go to Mars. In the medical field, great progress is made so we will live longer and look younger. On this Labor Day weekend, we celebrate human labor.     The St. Faustina Handbell Choir is coming back! As you know, per the Archdiocese’s guidelines, singing is not encour-aged in church due to concerns with COVID-19, and as a result we can-not have singing choirs at the moment. Our handbell choir, on the other hand, can resume playing as we already wear gloves and are able to so-cially distance. Are you looking for some way to get involved with the parish? Come make music with us! No experience or musical knowledge necessary. Rehearsals will be on Sundays at 10:00 am in church beginning on Sep-tember 13th.     Second Reading: ROM 13:8-10

    Brothers and sisters: Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not covet, ” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no evil to the neighbor; hence, love is the fulfillment of the law.

    Gospel MT 18:15-20 Jesus said to his disciples: “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that ‘every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

    For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pi-late, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

    I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

    NICENE CREED

    I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

    I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

    Act of Spiritual Communion

    It has long been a Catholic understanding that when cir-cumstances prevent one from receiving Holy Communion, it is possible to make an Act of Spiritual Communion which is a source of grace. Spiritual Communion means uniting one’s self in prayer with Christ’s sacrifice and wor-shipping Him in His Body and Blood. The most common reason for making an Act of Spiritual Communion is when a person cannot attend Mass. Acts of Spiritual Communion increase our desire to receive sacramental Communion and help us avoid the sins that would make us unable to receive Holy Communion worthily.

    My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You in

    my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,

    come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite my-

    self wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

His whole figure resplendent with great majesty He said, My daughter, why are you giving in to thoughts of fear? I answered, “O Lord, You know why,” And He said, Why? “This work frightens me.     At least one parent needs to be registered, active and a practicing Catholic for at least six months. A Baptismal Preparation Class is required for both parents and godparents.     Arrange at least six months in advance.
