PROFILE I am passionate about reproductive and sexual health care. Looking to expand my knowledge by working with organizations providing sexual and reproductive health care services and education. I have conducted various research projects including: College and Contraception: A descriptive analysis of contraceptive knowledge, attitudes, and practices among women at the Claremont Colleges” (Thesis); Organization of Risk and Agency in Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Risk Reduction Techniques Among Heterosexual College Individuals”; The Use of Online Sexual Health Information Resources Among College Age Adults: A Preliminary Study” EXPERIENCE WATSON FELLOW — AUGUST 2016- AUGUST 2017 The Watson Fellowship allows for a year of independent exploration around the globe. My project is titled: “Informed Consent, Individual Choice, and Factors Influencing Women’s Conceptive Decision Making”. Conducted interviews and volunteered at various Women’s and Sexual Health Organizations. During this fundraiser $6,000 was raised to provide sustainable menstrual hygiene products such as menstrual cups and reusable pads to young girls and women in peri-urban and rural areas of Zambia. Workshops in which women were educated about menstruation, period management, and how to sew cloth pads themselves were conducted at various points. www.gofundme.com/the-red-tent-project. MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGING ASSISTANT, MARIE STOPES ZAMBIA (MSZ); LUSAKA, ZAMBIA—DECEMBER 2016-APRIL 2017 Assisted in marketing and evaluating existing MSZ Youth Activities such as the Teen Diva Centers (where girls aged 16-24 can access free contraceptive counseling and services in nonjudgmental and youth-friendly way). Conducted focus groups with rural communities in the Copperbelt to asses newly created mobilization strategies created by MSZ and ideo.org. Organized and thematized events held at Diva Centers every other Friday. Collaborated in creating innovative ways of collecting qualitative data through Teen-Connectors at Diva Centers. Designed a youth-friendly efficacy chart that utilized the “Divine Diva” models. Developed MSZ’s social media strategy and created counseling scripts for the Teen-Connectors that spoke to aspirations rather than merely information. VOLUNTEER AT LUSAKA UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL MATERNITY WARD; LUSAKA, ZAMBIA—DECEMBER 2016-APRIL 2017

Shadowed OBGYNs during pre-natal, ante-natal, and family planning clinics once a week. During family planning clinics I provided contraceptive counseling and observed the administration of oral contraceptives, the injectable, and witnessed insertions and removals of long-acting reversible contraceptives. Assisted midwives, nurses, and doctors on Labor and Delivery Ward and supported laboring patients at least once a week.

VOLUNTEER AT CROSSROADS; CLAREMONT, CA — 2015 Worked alongside previously incarcerated women on community building projects. Developed an educational program regarding HIV/AIDS prevention using engagement activities and Power Point. Reached out to other organizations for fundraising and community involvement opportunities.

Developed continuing education units (CEU) for affiliate doctors and nurses. Various topics included: birth control methods, new drug regimens or sexually transmitted infections, ICD-10 Codes, medical recommendations, new pap guidelines, and abortion procedure guidelines

Acted as peer advocate, promotions coordinator, and a member of the continuing education committee. Provided peer education and confidential resources regarding sexual assault, and worked warm-line. Participated in 40+ hours of advocacy training.
