In my first job, the responsibility for the procurement and delivery of valves worth approximately USD 800 million to Saudi Aramco for the Shaybah Central Processing Facilities project was assigned to me within 6 months of joining. More recently, I was assigned as package manager during my tenure in Weatherford International for Firewater Pumps and Potable Water Production system to resolve all engineering and contractual issues, after originally joining as a mechanical engineer. During the last assignment, I was involved in the planning of nearly 40 projects that were slated for execution by Zakum Development Company (ZADCO). SKILL SETS AND KNOWLEDGE Project Engineer - Execution Planning: Determine the Schedule Reserve (contingency) for project planning and reporting based on historical data. Set up the framework for Interface Management Plan for the Brownfield Projects (BRFP) department. Prepare, maintain and refine the Manpower Projections for Zirku Island population. Define and summarize the list of potential projects on Zirku Island for the Life Extension Program. Perform a comprehensive Camp Management Study to draft standard requirements for Camp Construction and Operations and assess the condition of camps currently on Zirku Island. Maintain the Master Schedule of projects being and executed and slated for execution. Assist with land allocation for future camps, laydown areas and relocation of existing facilities. Update the Zirku Master Execution Plan for 2016. Liaise with various ZADCO departments (within and external to BRFP) to perform the above tasks. Prepare charts, graphics and slides for Senior Management presentations. Project Engineer: Manage the project set-up process (introduce the document control system, add cost centers in the timesheet system, generate the preliminary deliverables list, initiate preparation of the Project Schedule). Resolve design conflicts while keeping safety considerations paramount. Constructive participation in 3D Model Reviews, HAZID, HAZOP and SIL Workshops. Review recommendations from the above workshops and ensure implementation in a cost effective manner. Review the detailed Project Schedule for completeness and execution logic. Finalize the deliverables list with input from engineering disciplines and document control. Alert engineering leads to critical path deliverables for timely completion to avoid delays. Coordinate design of the plant and equipment with engineering disciplines, sub-contractors and equipment vendors in accordance with best practices for constructability, operability and maintainability. Resolve contractual issues with sub-contractors and vendors to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Ensure client-specified engineering and safety standards are followed. Review deliverables for readability and technical accuracy before issuing to the client. Monitor man-hours consumption and compare with project progress. Prepare Variation Orders for any additional or modified requirements from the client. Review Variation Requests from vendors and recommend the course of action. Oversee preparation of Final Dossiers from engineering disciplines and vendors. Handover of packages to the Construction and Commissioning teams. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for the project

Mechanical Engineer – Piping:

Perform Technical Bid Evaluation of vendor quotations for Piping and Valves from Vendors.

Review and approve vendor documentation prior to manufacturing of piping and valves.

Perform inspection of Valves and review test data prior to delivery.

Prepare and maintain Piping Material Specifications detailing the materials, pressure ratings, pipe sizes,

branch tables and further information for metallic and non-metallic piping.

Review and approve vendor documentation prior to manufacturing.

Inspect equipment at the vendors’ premises to ensure all requirements have been met and equipment

performs as specified.

Prepare Specifications for API and non-API Pumps based on client requirements and best practice

guidelines.

Prepare Data Sheets using input from Process for selecting the appropriate seal plan, and from

Instrumentation for Ingress Protection and Ex rating.

Prepare a template for the Equipment List and add in relevant data for all pumps, compressors and

turbines.

Prepare Material Requisitions for Pumps, detailing relevant standards and specifications, type and

number of pumps to be procured, Testing and Documentation requirements.

Project Planning and Controls Engineer:

Prepare Level 2 Schedule for project bids based on the deliverables list and execution plan.

Prepare a Level 4 baseline schedule for active projects complete with work breakdown structure,

resource loading and milestones.

Identify all deliverables on the critical path.

Provide input for weekly and monthly reports.

Update the schedule based on daily feedback from the project team.

Monitor man-hours consumption to ensure deliverables are completed within allotted hours.

Prepare cost and schedule information for Variation Orders.
