This survey strongly supports the concept that the Society should have a broader scope of activities rather than just negotiations about fees. It is more compatible with the idea of the Society as a group with activities catering for all the needs of cardiothoracic surgeons, and membership extending beyond Australia and New Zealand. The ASCTS should hold a scientific meeting early in 1992: Yes 31% No 69% 3.
