It theywant to buy it, they need to present an offer tome and I decide if I want to accept that offer--THEN they can vote. I think anyone who has to pay taxes to upkeep the canyon should be represented. Others may use the canyon but does not make them a stakeholder. They use the canyon because we provide the means for them to use it.

What were your impressions?I was not able to attend but as soon as I got homeI watched the live feed. Then I went back andwatched it in its entirety. My biggest impressionwas feeling like money was the biggest motivatorin this land exchange. I kept feeling betrayed anddistrust with every word that was being said. I keptwondering why this was not out in the open andwhy Bob Bonar felt like he needed to go throughSLC organization instead of a Utah Countyorganization. It prompted me to do research onMountain Accord and American Fork Vision. Myconclusion about both organizations was theywere both motivated by money and not by thepeople's desires.

I would suggest the following modification to thechoices given.I believe since it is the public that uses the canyonmore than elected officials and business then theGrass roots groups should be able to steer thecommittee in the interest of the general public. I believe anybody who has received any type of financial or otherwise benefit from any organization that would be affected with the direction of the canyon should recuse themselves. If they do not recuse themselves, and in the future if any kind of benefit comes to the surface, then that person or group should be held accountable legally and serious consequences and charges should result.

I also believe that since American Fork Canyon is within the boundaries of Utah County, only Utah County citizens and officials should be on the committee.

I believe that any State Legislator who is on the committee should be a resident of Utah County.

I believe the Northern cities should be on the steering committee. The only reason I did not include the southern county cities is because many of those cities utilize Payson Canyon and Diamond Fork Canyon for their recreation and interests. I am not opposed to those cities participating if the proper need to be on the committee can be demonstrated.

Draper is not in Utah County, and they have closed off hundreds, if not thousands of acres to certain public interests, therefore I believe they should be excluded. They have demonstrated a favoritism toward certain user groups and have proven to exclude other interests access to their land - therefore I believe they should not be on the steering committee of American Fork Canyon - after all, AFC is everybody's canyon and nobody should be excluded access. Draper has already proven that they are NOT accommodating to all user groups.
