LIBERTY’S CAMPUS TODAY

Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. revealed a master plan in 2011 that involves new academic buildings, including a freestanding library, renovations to Arthur S. DeMoss Learning Center, more open space on main campus, including a lake behind the Vines Center, and a new residential quad to replace Liberty’s oldest residence halls.

“We don’t know exactly how long it will take us to get there, but, within two to three years, the end result will be a lot more academic space and green space,” Falwell said.

Represented is a map displaying Liberty’s campus as it currently is today along

rooftop patio will be added to DeMoss, giving students an outdoor study area with an unobstructed view of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west.

Two new, separate academic buildings will be built just behind DeMoss. These three-story structures will be attached by a covered walkway that will create a stage for outdoor events on the adjacent academic lawn. These buildings will likely house the School of Education and School of Business.

This new academic structure near the existing Reber-Thomas Dining Hall will likely house the university’s new School of Health Sciences.

This facility will house two to three practice basketball courts for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. It will feature a rooftop lawn that will allow students to walk from the DeMoss area to the new residential lawn.

This group of academic buildings will likely house the new School of Communication and/or another school, yet to be determined.

The reconstructed residence hall circle will feature four-story or taller residence halls built around a residential lawn
