INFORMATION AND PUBLIC EDUCATION ACTIVITIES (2 ND Quarter 2015) APRIL Provided anti-drug awareness lecture in the opening of the Annual Sports Camp of Navotas City on 11 April 2015 held at the Navotas City Sports Complex which was attended by participants with varying age group together with their parents. Following the above-mentioned event on the same date, Information and Public Education Section (IPES) of this Office also conducted a seminar on illegal drugs and its adverse effect to Brgy. San Joaquin, Pasig City. MAY Provided anti-drug awareness lecture to the participants of Messiah Mission International Ministry’s Summer Youth Camp entitled “Convergence of Clans – Insight 2015” on May 13, 2015 at East Minantok Amadeo, Cavite. Information and Public Education Section (IPES) of this Office provided lecture on Salient Provision of RA 9165 to the youth residence of Doña Rosario Subdivision Novaliches, Quezon City on May 14, 2015 during the conduct of Quezon City Anti Drug Abuse and Advisory Council (QCADAAC) city wide Drug Abuse and Prevention Seminar through their initiatives called “Barkada Kontra Droga”. This Office attended the 10th founding anniversary of Mission to Help the Poor Association Group (MITOHETPO). IPES Action Officer delivered an inspirational speech in relation to their partnership with the Agency to eradicate illegal drugs. Following the above mentioned activity of QCADAAC, another lecture on Salient Provisions of RA 9165 was given to the youth attendees of Barkada Kontra Droga on May 20, 2015 at Barangay Talayan, Quezon City. JUNE In the continuity of the Agency’s program on National Drug Prevention for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Information and Public Education Section of this Office provided anti- drug awareness lecture to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from various secondary school of Quezon City under the care group Deaf Church of the Philippines on June 5, 2015 at the Activity Area. The activity also constitutes to the making of an AVP to accomplish an IEC material to reach the DHoH community with regards to anti-drug campaign. Following the above initiative, another lecture was conducted on June 11, 2015 to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students of Lagro High School located at Novaliches Quezon City. This is in continuity of one of the project of DAP Scholar of this Office adapted by the Agency entitled “National Drug Prevention Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This series of events also culminated a Training of Trainers which was attended by the teachers and staff of Lagro High School which was held last June 24, 2015. Two BADAC Trainings were also held at this month; BADAC Orientation and Training for Brgy. 182 Pangarap Village Caloocan City oand Brgy. 176 Bagong Silang Caloocan City (initiated by Mission to Help the Poor MITOHETPO) on June 8 and June 30 respectively. Community participation was also honed in an event entitled Laban Kabataan Kontra Droga on June 20 2015, an awareness march participated in by the youths of Brgy. Manggahan Pasig City. This Office graced the event providing a seminar to the young people who attended the march.

RD Erwin S. Ogario together with the Information and Public Education Section (IPES), this Office had a meeting with DSWD-NCR representatives headed by Asst Regional Director Delia Bawan last May 21, 2015 at RO NCR Conference Room. The objective of the meeting was to explore on the possibility of making PDEA as an external partner with DSWD in support to the implementation of their program particularly the Pantawid Pamilya project.

RD OGARIO was invited by a joint effort of Caloocan City Anti Drug Abuse Council (CCADAC) and SAID SOTG also in Caloocan to deliver a Solidarity Message during the Opening Ceremony of a five-day Taining of Trainers for the Holistic Anti-Drug Campaign in the City. Likewise, RD OGARIO and two other personnel of RO NCR conducted lectures on NCR Drug Report; Brgy Drug Affectation; Operation Private Eye, among others in the same activity attended by a total of 60 participants mostly from LGUs, PNP Personnel and other representatives from the religious sector. This was held last May 25-29, 2015 at Bulwagang Plaridel Hall, Caloocan City.
