Report on “National Unity Day” Celebrations

India is a secular country with diversified cultures and the significances in their own kind. As an

endeavour to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, the country celebrated the Birth Anniversary

of Sardar Vallabhai Patel on 31 st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). In line with the

celebrations countrywide, Suraj Bhan D.A.V. Public School following the mandate organized various

activities in the school premises in order to extend their heartfelt appreciation about the life and the

involvement of the great leader, Sardar Patel , in the veritable contribution during the freedom struggle

and to lay a foundation of a unified country fused with oneness. The idea was to infuse in the young

future generation with values integrated with the knowledge and adoration about the country’s rich

heritage.

A throng of activities were organized all through the day to support the cause of promoting unity and

celebrating “National Unity Day” in the school premises.

1. A special morning assembly was organized. The programme started with the impressive

speeches made by the students in English as well as Hindi on the life, history and the role of

Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle to establish a harmonious society.

The following students of Class X imparted the speech during the assembly:

2. The school choir presented a patriotic song on National Unity. The scanned copy of the song is

3. Approximately 300 students from the Middle Department held a Peace March Past.

4. A Collaborative pledge on Peace and Solidarity was administered by the teachers and the

students.

5. The School encouraged the students to attend the Inter School competition and Quiz

Competition organized by the schools.

On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, D.A.V. Public School, Srestha Vihar organized an array

of Inter School Competitions. SBDAVians took the opportune and participated in The European

Dance Competition thus securing the third Position in the event. Shruti of IX D secured II

Position in Sanskrit Speech and Anoushka of X A II in Selfie Online Compition.

The following students took part in the Online Quiz Programme organized by Laxman Public

School, Hauz Khas, New Delhi on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, to appreciate the

contributions made by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the society and the humanity in general.:

6.PowerPoint Presentation on Sardar Patel-His Life and Achievements was made by Harsh Dahiya of

Class XI and Vaishali Goyal of XI D .

An Intra School Quiz was organized on the basis of the powerpoint presentation .

7. The students were engaged in the activities like Slogan Wirting and Posters were designed.

The events organized the entire day were fun filled, motivating for the students as it was a different

experience for the students as well as the teachers.
