Report on Magnetic SurveyGold Rock Prospect
Kenora Mining Division
January 20, 1982 Peter J. Vamos, P.Eng.
-2-
GENERAL GEOLOGY:
The Gold Rock area where the property is located is mainly underlain by volcanic rocks of intermediate to mafic composition which are intercalated by felsic flows. The vein system which is the host of the mineralization, appears to be associated with strikes northeast at AS and dips nearly vertically. Gold was found along narrow veins of extensive length. These features are said to occur within a stratigraphic horizon of volcanic rocks. They are rich in gold content and are predominatly of quartz with minor amounts of pyrite and chalcopyrite and galena.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:
The baseline was set at 40 and was cut to a length of 3,200ms with 0+00 positioned near the south end. Lines were turned cut at 100m centers, they were chained and picketed at 20m intervals. A Geometric G 816 Proton magnetometer was used, readings were taken at each station. Base stations were established corrections for the diurnal variations were made and the values were plotted on the accompanying map. This map was drawn to the scale of 1:2,500 with a base of 59,000 gammas, contour intervals were selected at 100 gammas.
The resulting contour map has confirmed the earlier statements of dominating northeasterly directions. Several low magnetic anomalies have been located. They usually peak at 400 - 500 gammas over the background of roughly 1,000 gammas. These features are usually narrow and in the 300 - 400m length range. Usually straight and steeply dipping. Only three anomalies of medium range were located on the grid, though there are indications of others but they are identified on one line only before leaving the property.
The anomalies found on the property are mostly on the north half. The first is near to the baseline on the east side between lines 19 N and 22 N. Peak value here is almost a thousand gammas over the background. This anomaly is likely due to sulphide mineralization. The second moderately strong anomaly is about on the same lines (18 N - 22 N) west of the baseline on the shore of the small pond located on the edge of the claim group. The peak value here is 2,600 gammas, it is likely due to the same causes as the first anomaly. The third anomaly is next to the north boundary and extends from the claims to the north. Located on line 27 N to 29 N peak values are at 1,400 gammas.
High magnetic readings were found on lines 7 N, 11 N and 16 N. All these anomalies continue off our present grid.
There is no significant sign of any folding down by the survey, though some minor faulting maybe possible.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
We are recommending that the results of the electromagnetic be interpreted with special attention given to areas of interest on the magnetic plan. Specific recommendations regarding further follow up will be Included in the report on the electromagnetic survey.
Peter J. Vamos, P.Eng.
INTRODUCTION:
The property was staked for Mr. Milton Kirsh in 1980 and 1981 to secure an area which had gold occurrences reported in the past. Field work was completed in the same year.
This report deals with the results of the magnetic survey. A second report which will be discussing the results of the electromagnetic survey is in preparatory stage.
SUMMARY:
Field work started during the spring of 1981. After linecutting was completed a magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey was done. Several moderate magnetic anomalies were located which are briefly evaluated here, recommendations for follow up will be made in the report covering the electromagnetic survey.
PROPERTY, LOCATION AND ACCESS:
The property consists of twenty-one staked contiguous mining claims all in the Boyer Lake Area of the Kenora Mining Division. The claims are shown on the Plan No. M-2582 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and are in the northwest quarter of the map area, west of Highway 502, just north of Kabaguski Lake. Claim numbers are as follows:
K 350900 (Held under option)K 526530 K 541651
526531 541652526532 544160526533 544161526534 544162526535 544163541650 544164
K 544165544166544167544168544169544170
The property is accessible on land via Highway 502, a paved all weather road linking the Town of Dryden with Fort Frances. The Highway passes about 1/2 mile east of the property. An old bush road can be utilized to reach the claims from the Highway, the road, more like a trail, can be utilized in the winter using a snow vehicle, in the summer the deep ruts and a creek which crosses the trail may be serious obstacles even for a four wheel drive vehicle.
HISTORY OF PREVIOUS WORK:
Gold mining in the area dates back to the turn of the century, consequently the information available from these days is somewhat fragmentory. According to a report written for the company by H. Grant Harper, P.Eng. the property was first explored in the early I900's, a shaft was sunk to a depth of 315 feet with minor lateral work on three levels. A second much shallower shaft was also sunk approximately 500 feet south of the first shaft. In around 1904 the project closed down. Re-opened in 1938 the mine workings were rehabilitated and some sampling took place, a drill program in 1965 totalled 2,439 feet. The last work done was in 1974 when two short holes were drilled.

Dear Mr. Klrsh:
I have today authorized the Mining Recorder to cancel the electromagnetic work credits that you recorded on December 14 and 24, 1981 on each of the following claims:
K 526530-31-32-34-35 K 544562 to 70 Inclusive K 526533 K 544160 K 541650*51
I expect that this cancellation will place your claims In default and recommend therefore, that you contact the Mining Recorder to determine the status of your claims.

Mft. Milton K1rsh, the holder of the mining claims on the attached "Notification of Recording of Assessment Work Credits" (beneficial holder of K 541650-51) did not provide an electromagnetic survey report within the 60 day period following the recording of the work with you on December 14 and 24, 1981. You are hereby authorized to delete the electromagnetic work credits recorded against each of the following mining claims:
K 526530-31-32-34-35 K 544562 to 70 Inclusive K 526533 K 544160 K 541650-51
I have had an opportunity to see recent abstracts of these claims and I note that relief from forfeiture and extensions were allowed on these claims. The Mining Commissioner Informs me that he made his orders based on the work credits shown on the abstracts that were neither confirmed or rejected at that time. It would seem to me that the deletion of the electromagnetic credits places the claims In default as of February of 1982 regardless of the Commissioner's Orders,
Although there 1s no question that the onus of filing his survey report on time rested with Mr* Klrsh there his been some confusion and perhaps he was led to believe that his claims were valid byu reason of the Commissioner's Orders and by virtue of our not notifying you of his failure to supply the reports back 1n 1982.
If you cancel the claims I would suggest that, considering the circumstances* 1t would not be unreasonable to Inform Mr. Klrsh Immediately by telephone (416-781-9938) Of your action and tell him when the claims will be open for restaMng.
With respect to my Notice of Intent dated 1983.01.13 concerning

Notice of Intent
for Technical ReportsOntario
1983 01 13
2.4503
An examination of your survey report indicates that the requirements of The Ontario Mining Act have not been fully met to warrant maximum assessment work credits. This notice is merely a warning that you will not be allowed the number of assessment work days credits that you expected and also that in approximately 15 days from the above date, the mining recorder will be authorized to change the entries on his record sheets to agree with the enclosed statement. Please note that until such time as the recorder actually changes the entry on the record sheet, the status of the claim remains unchanged.
If you are of the opinion that these changes by the mining recorder will jeopardize your claims, you may during the next fifteen days apply to the Mining and Lands Commissioner for an extension of time. Abstracts should be sent with your application.
If the reduced rate of credits does not jeopardize the status of the claims then you need not seek relief from the Mining and Lands Commissioner and this Notice of Intent may be disregarded.
If your survey was submitted and assessed under the "Special Provision-Performance and Coverage" method and you are of the opinion that a re-appraisal under the "Man-days" method would result in the approval of a greater number of days credit per claim, you may, within the said fifteen day period, submit assessment work breakdowns listing the employees names, addresses and the dates and hours they worked. The new work breakdowns should be submitted direct to the Lands Management Branch, Toronto. The report will be re-assessed and a new statement of credits based on actual days worked will be issued.
