    REPORT OF THE POWER POINT, EDUCATION

    COURSEWARE

    BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT

    Theme of the education courseware is learning language, the title is Lets Learn Alphabets. This

    courseware is created using Power Point. In the courseware we are introducing the pupils

    alphabets starting from A to N.

    The courseware consists :

    - The main slide, (Appendix -1 ) shows The Title, Key of hyperlinks to Learning,Exercise , Song and Home.

    - The Learning Activity , (Appendix -2) here the learning of alphabets starts from theletter A to N. On each slide, when the teacher clicks, the letter appears in the form of

    upper case and lower case. Next click, the pronunciation of the alphabet can be heard

    and followed by an example of word and picture using the alphabet. All the letters,

    words and pictures are very attractive, and we had used graphic, animation and sound.

    The next click, will make the 3 navigations to appear, shows Activity, Home and the

    Back key. The teacher can use the navigation according to the pupils acquisition of

    the lesson.

    - The Exercise, (Appendix -3 ) once the pupils learnt the alphabets from A to N, nextthe teacher goes to the exercise slides. The exercise slides contains the picture of

    alphabet and words learnt in earlier slides. For example airplane for A. The pupils

    have to match the picture to the alphabet correctly, whereby three options of letters

    are given. If the pupils click it correctly, words of appreciation with picture and

    followed by clapping sound would appear.

    If the pupils matched it wrongly, words of try again will appear with a sad music. On

    this slide there is arrow key need to be clicked, theyve to go back to the same

    exercise again. The pupils had to try again and again until they match correctly.

    Songs, (Appendix -4)once the teacher had finished with exercise the teacher can

    click to the song slide. This uses the MP4, an alphabet song with animation. Pupils

    could easily follow the song.

    OBJECTIVE OF THE EDUCATION COURSEWARE

    Using this courseware, pupils could identify and distinguish the shape of the letters in

    the alphabet.

    The pupils also aware of the phonemes learnt and then the letter sound

    correspondence.

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    By end of the lesson pupils will be able :

    to recognize the alphabet A to N, match the alphabet A to N to the word and pictures correctly.

    Report Of The Lesson using the Power Point Educational Courseware

    In my preschool class, I have choosen three children and gave them a new experience in

    playing a game in power point. In this experience the children have learned the alphabets, the

    words beginning with the alphabet and also have settled the exercise with and without the

    teachers guide. This was done effectively.

    While I let the children to experience the lesson and the exercise I notice few important

    points. They are, the children are not new to the computer. They move the mouse and click it like

    they are very used to it and not afraid to use the computer. When I show the children the slide

    and ask them to click, the children enjoyed the application very well and was very excited to

    continue playing. This type of teaching aids are very effective in teaching the children, in what

    ever subjects. The objective of the subject can be reached easily while using this program and it

    can be used to all level students.

    The three children were choosen are not from smart and active groups only. The name of

    the children, the pictures and their experience are attached together with this report for further

    information. These are the three children and my assistant.

    The first Child:

    Name : Narmatha a/p Kathirasen

    Class : Preschool Jeyam

    Age : 6 Years Old

    Narmatha is one of the best studentsimJeyam Preschool. When I ask her to come and join

    me in the program, she was not afraid. Morever, when I asked to use the mouse, she was very

    happy and felt verl comfortable while learing the lesson and finished the exercise.

    When I interviewed her, she said it was very good to use the mouse. She said that she

    can learn all the aphabets and the words very easily eventhough she have learned the alphabets

    before in the classroom and in her formal nursery. When , observed her, while she was using the

    power point, I noticed that she is very happy and was totally corncertrating the lesson in the

    power point. While she was playing the execise and learning the lesson , I managed to took few

    snapes. She also said that she enjoyed using the computer and the programe.

    At first, I guied and explaned to Narmatha how to use and learn the alphabets in the

    program. Once I thought her few times, she tried by herself.

    Narmatha managed to control the mouse and click it. She managed to use the computer

    by her own.

    Name : Devaki a/p Santhiran

    Class : Preschool Jeyam

    Age : 6 years old

    Devaki is a student from a poor family and in her house there is no computer. But, when

    I invited her to come and try it, she bravely raised up her hand asked for the permition. When I

    asked to devaki, my student to use the computer. She said, she have no experience in using a

    computer. So, I decide to guide her more thenNarmatha, and was there all the time she was using

    the computer and the mouse. She was very worid and dont know how to use the mouse. But she

    didnt gave up. She was very excited to learn to use the computer and at last she managed to usethe computer and the mouse by her own. Devaki, was very happy while she was learing the

    alphabets and the words. Morever, when she was doing the exercise section. She managed to

    click all correct answer.

    Name : Danes a/l Mani

    Class : Preschool Jeyam

    Age : 6 years old

    Danes is on one of my student who is a very active boy. Danes, according to his

    interview, he said he have used the computer before. But, there is no computer in his house now.But, said in his interview tha he realy like and enjoy using computer. He also want to use

    computer to learn lesson and play games.

    Danes managed to use the computer, with my guide and it was only in the beginning.

    Then he wanted to use, click the mouse by his own. So, I let him to use the computer and mouse

    by his own. He learned the song, the alphabets and finished all the exercises. But, he still need

    my guide when he was doing the exercise. Devaki, the other student also, tried to help and guide

    him while he was using the mouse and computer.

    At last, in my report I would like to highlight that, the children are very happy enjoying

    when they use the computer. Any lesson can be taught very easily by using this types of

    programs, which can give a chance to the child to use the mouse. Any song, or new words will

    be more effectively reach the children, with songs, music and graphics.
