NUTRITION OFFICER) In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted a Deulwada Anganwadi, Amona for the mothers of preschool children. The nutrition officers delivered a talk on importance of nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food were discussed. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched upon. The session was attended by 12 mothers of different age groups. Also ANM and MPHW (M) from Amona sub centre were present. The ladies attending the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition which were judged by the .nutrition officers based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive value, Creativity. The recipes prepared were based on leafy vegetables. The best 3 recipes were chosen as the winners. The participants were also advised on how to improvise the recipes nutritionally. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered. In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted a Deulwada Anganwadi,

Amona for the mothers of preschool children. The nutrition officers delivered a talk on importance of nutrition and

balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and the

deficiencies and sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food were

discussed. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched upon. The

session was attended by 12 mothers of different age groups. Also ANM and MPHW (M) from Amona sub centre were

present. The ladies attending the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition which were

judged by the .nutrition officers based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive

value, Creativity. The recipes prepared were based on leafy vegetables. The best 3 recipes were chosen as the winners.

The participants were also advised on how to improvise the recipes nutritionally. It was an interactive session where

the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered.

In view of National nutrition week, a nutrition education programme was conducted at Govt. Primary School,

Khorlim, Mapusa for students from std 3rd

and 4th. Since the children are in the rapid growing phase the nutritional

requirements increase .The nutrition officer delivered a lecture on importance of nutrition for children. Other topics

highlighted were balanced diet with the help of food guide pyramid, importance of water, deficiencies and food

sources of iron, calcium, importance of breakfast and ill effects of junk food. A total of 32 students and 5 teachers

attended the session.

On the occasion of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted at Govt.High

School, Kasarpal for the students of 5th

Std -10th

Std and also for the primary students from Govt.Primary

school. In view of educating them about importance of nutrition since they are in the adolescent phase and

this is a very crucial period for their healthy growth and development and thus require special attention to

macro as well as micro nutrients. The assistant nutrition officer delivered a PowerPoint presentation on

balanced diet with the help of food guide pyramid, importance of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and

sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Iodine, Vitamin A, ill effects of junk food, and

personal hygiene were discussed. The session was attended by 32 students from GPS and 143 students from

GHS along with their teachers. The SHMO and RMNCH+A Counselor from Bicholim PHC were present. It

was an interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were

answered.

In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted at Carona Anganwadi, Aldona

for the mothers of preschool children and school going children by ICDS Bardez block and Aldona PHC health staff.

Three anganwadis namely- Carona, Khorjuem and Aldona participated in this programme. The nutrition officer

delivered a talk on importance of nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were

importance of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and food sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and

Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe and

making of homemade horlicks were also discussed. The Mukhya Sevika gave a brief introduction of the programme

and discussed about infant ragi formula as a weaning food for babies. The session was attended by 24 mothers of

different age groups. The ladies attending the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition

which were judged by the .nutrition officers based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability,

Nutritive value, Creativity. The recipes prepared were based on sprouted moong. The best 3 recipes were chosen as

the winners. Total 15 ladies participated in the competition. The participants were also advised on how to improvise

the recipes nutritionally. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their

queries were answered.

In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted at Ibrampur school hall,

Ibrampur for the mothers of preschool and school going children by ICDS Pernem block and Nutrition board,

Porvorim. The MO from Casarvane PHC spoke on nutrition for pregnant and lactating mothers. The nutrition officer

delivered a talk on importance of nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were

importance of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and food sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and

Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe and

making of homemade horlicks were also discussed. The nutrition board in charge also spoke on importance of good

nutrition for children. The CDPO Pernem block gave a brief introduction of the programme. The session was attended

by 70 mothers of different age groups. The Member of Parliament Mr Shripad Naik was also the special guest for the

programme. The ladies attending the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition. Raw

ingredients based on their nutritional value were put on display.

In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted a Deulwada Anganwadi,

Shirgao, for the mothers of preschool children. It was a combined programme of two anganwadies deulwada and

palniwada anganwadi.The assistant nutrition officer delivered a talk on importance of nutrition and balance diet for

children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and sources of

important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food were discussed. Tips on how to

improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched upon. The session was attended by 25

adolescent girls from Govt.High School and 17 mothers of different age groups. The Mukhyasevika from ICDS

sector, RMNCH+A Counselor from Bicholim PHC, ANM from Advalpal sub centre were present. The ladies

attending the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition which were judged by the

assistant nutrition officer and Mukhyasevika (ICDS) based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost &

availability, Nutritive value, Creativity. The recipes prepared were based on Pulse preparartion. The best 3 recipes

were chosen as the winners. The participants were also advised on how to improvise the recipes nutritionally. It was

an interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered.

In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted at Naikwada Anganwadi, Keri

for the mothers of preschool children. It was an ICDS programme of 9 anganwadies from Keri Panchayat area. The

assistant nutrition officer delivered a talk on importance of nutrition and balance diet for children and women.

Other topics highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and sources of important nutrients

like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food were discussed. Tips on how to improvised and increase

the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched upon. The session was attended by 23 mothers of different age

groups. The Mukhyasevika from ICDS sector, Headmistress from GPS, Keri, Panch Member from Keri panchayat,

Anganwadi workers were present. The ladies attending the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a

competition which were judged by the assistant nutrition officer and Mukhyasevika (ICDS) based on the

following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive value, Creativity. The recipes prepared were

based on SNP provided to the beneficiaries. The best 5 recipes were chosen as the winners. The participants were also

advised on how to improvise the recipes nutritionally. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked

many questions to which their queries were answered.

In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted at Malabwado Anganwadi,

Merces for the mothers of preschool children and school going children. Five anganwadis participated in the

programme namely- Malabwado, Bamonwado, Kumarwado, Voilebhat and St Caitan. The nutrition officer delivered

a talk on importance of nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance

of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and food sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and

ill effects of junk food. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe and making of

homemade horlicks were also discussed. The session was attended by 24 mothers of different age groups. The ladies

attending the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition which were judged by the

.nutrition officer based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive value, Creativity.

The best 3 recipes were chosen as the winners. The recipes prepared were based on fruits. Total 23 ladies participated

in the competition. The participants were also advised on how to improvise the recipes nutritionally. The school

health MO from Corlim PHC also spoke on importance of good nutrition for adolescents and children. It was an

interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered. Raw

ingredients based on their nutritional value were put on display.

Pissurlem for the mothers of preschool children. The assistant nutrition officer delivered a talk on importance of

Bicholim for the mothers of preschool children and school going children. Three anganwadis participated in the

programme namely- Dhongarwado, Muslimwado I & II. The nutrition officer delivered a talk on importance of

nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and

the deficiencies and food sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food.

Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe and making of homemade horlicks were also

discussed. The session was attended by 20 mothers of different age groups. The ladies attending the session were

instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition which were judged by the .nutrition officers based on the

following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive value, Creativity. The best 3 recipes were chosen

for the mothers of preschool children. It was a combined programme of 3 anganwadies Vondamol, Savribhat and

Gaokarwada anganwadi.The assistant nutrition officer a PowerPoint presentation on importance of nutrition and

balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and the

deficiencies and sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food were

discussed. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched upon. The

session was attended by 108awws. The ANM from Velguem sub centre and 3 anganwadi workers were also present.

for the mothers of preschool children and school going children. Five anganwadis participated in the programme

namely- Cuncolim, Mardol, Mangueshi, Khazan and Gautan Veling. The nutrition officer delivered a talk on

importance of nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water,

breakfast and the deficiencies and food sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects

of junk food. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe and making of homemade

horlicks were also discussed. The session was attended by 20 mothers of different age groups. The ladies attending

the session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition which were judged by the .nutrition officer,

Mukhya Sevika and HO based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive value,

In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted at Wadachawada Anganwadi,

Bordem for the mothers of preschool children. The assistant nutrition officer delivered a talk on importance of

nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and

the deficiencies and sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of junk food were

discussed. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched upon. The

session was attended by 20 mothers of different age groups. The ANM from Bordem sub centre, Councilor from

Bicholim Muncipal council, Teacher from GPS and anganwadi worker were also present. The ladies attending the

session were instructed to prepare nutritious recipes for a competition which were judged by the assistant nutrition

officer based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive value, Creativity. The best 3

recipes were chosen as the winners. The recipes prepared were based on leafy vegetables .The participants were also

PLACE: Aldona PHC

In view of National Nutrition week a nutrition education programme was conducted at Aldona PHC for the

anganwadi workers and ANMs on ICDS sector meeting day. The nutrition officers delivered a talk to educate

anganwadi workers on importance of nutrition for children, adolescents and pregnant mothers, balanced diet. Topics

highlighted were importance of water, breakfast, the deficiencies and sources of iron, calcium, iodine, vitamin A and

ill- effects of junk food, weaning foods and lactogenic foods. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional

value of a recipe were also touched upon. The in charge of the Nutrition board gave a brief summary on nutrition. A

recipe competition was conducted where the AWWs had to prepare a nutritious recipe which were judged by the

nutrition officer based on the following criteria-Appearance & taste, Cost & availability, Nutritive value, Creativity.

The best 3 recipes were chosen as the winners. Total 13 AWWs participated in the competition. The participants were

also advised on how to improvise the recipes nutritionally. The session was attended by total 30 Anganwadi workers

and 8ANMs, School health Medical Officer, Mukhya Sevika, ARSH Counselor, and Extension Educator from

Aldona PHC. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were

answered.

The Sattari ICDS Block had celebrated ‘National Nutrition week’ at Forest Training School, Valpoi for all the

importance of nutrition and balance diet for children and women. Other topics highlighted were importance of water,

breakfast and the deficiencies and sources of important nutrients like Iron, calcium and Vitamin A, and ill effects of

junk food were discussed. Tips on how to improvised and increase the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched

upon. The MO from Valpoi CHC spoke on importance of nutrition in todays lifestyle. The session was attended by

106 AWWS. The CDPO from Sattari ICDS Block, 2Mukhyasevikas, Demonstration Officer from Nutrition Board,

Porvorim, Councilor from Valpoi Muncipal council, Repoter from Tarun Bharat Newsletter, RMNCH+A Counselor

from ICDS Quepem welcomed the audience and introduced the program followed by the Nutrition Officer

delivered a lecture on importance of Nutrition in day to day life, how balanced diet can be incorporated through

locally available foods and SNP provided at Anganwadi level, importance of breastfeeding and diet of the mother

during lactation was discussed with examples of preparation of complementary feeds at home. Anganwadi worker

demonstrated sprouted moong salad. IEC Supervisor spoke on women’s health during pregnancy and lactation

to medical facility, PCPNDT Act, DOTS and importance of deworming in children as well as in adults. In view of

A Nutrition Education Programme was conducted on Immunisation Day at Davorlim Sub Centre for the parents.

Nutrition Officer delivered a lecture on importance of nutrition. Topics highlighted were importance of energy

yielding, protective and proteins food sources. Deficiencies and food sources of important nutrients iron and

calcium was highlighted. Ill effects of junk food and tips on how to improvise recipes were discussed. Preparation

of recipes using SNP provided and locally available foods was also discussed. Consumption of local fruits and

vegetables were also encouraged. The session was attended by 19 parents of different age groups. It was an

interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered. The

LHV, MPHW-M and ANM from Davorlim Sub Centre were also present.

PLACE: Paediatric OPD Hospicio Margao.

A Nutrition Education Programme was conducted on the Immunisation day at Hospicio Paediatric OPD for the

lactating mothers, mothers of pre-school and school children. The Nutrition Officer conducted group discussion

on importance of Immunisation. Importance and benefits of Breastfeeding for mother and child were highlighted.

Other topics highlighted were importance of protective and proteins food sources. Tips on how to improvised and

increase the nutritional value of a recipe were also touched upon. Preparation of complementary foods for

weaning infants including locally available foods and SNP provided were discussed. Consumption of local fruits

and vegetables was encouraged. Ill effects of junk food and importance of breakfast and water was also

highlighted. The session was attended by 35 mothers of different age groups. The RMNCH-A Counsellor was

also present. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries

were answered.
