Repair procedure for damaged part 1. SCOPE Repair of damaged part due to mechanical impact. 2. PROCESS 2.1 Cutting of damaged part: Cut and remove the damaged part with thermal cutting or cutting disc with excess of 2mm. Grind the cutted surface to make it smooth and free from notches and burrs. 2.2 Joint fit-up: Make the joint fit-up of both the part to meet the proper alignment. Joint is prepared either by single v or double v. 2.3 Welding: Weld the joint by FCAW or SMAW process. Clean the visual defects after welding and offer for NDT testing. 2.4 Testing: Conduct UT and MPI for 100% of repaired joint. If the testing is satisfactory, then submit the NDT report. If the NDT is showing any repair, then clear the marked area of repair and re-offer for testing.
