1926Saarbrücker Metallgusswerke was founded by Fritz Schorr and Albert Kretzler.
1944Saarbrücker Metallgusswerke moves to Kitzingen-on-Main.
1946Fritz Schorr ventures a fresh start and establishes Main-Metall-Gießerei Fritz Schorr. He markets a new bearing material under the registered trademark "Main-Metall®".
1978Further extension of the product range with self-lubricating bearings and guiding elements for low-maintenance and maintenance-free applications under the product name "MFA".

1993Take-over of Main-Metall Española, S.L. in Torrelavega which had been a licensee of Main-Metall since 1957.
1997Activity in the South-American market through the foundation of Main-Metall do Brazil in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
2000"Technologiegruppe Main-Metall (TMM)" is established with selected members of practical and scientific background.
2002Development and market introduction of norixlager®.

Main-Metall® is our proprietary zinc-aluminium-copper alloy for bearings and guiding elements. It has excellent sliding characteristics, high wear resistance and high thermal conductivity; additionally, it is very cost effective in comparison with copper alloys.

This group of hydrodynamic plain bearings consists of cylindrical, multilobe, tilting pad and journal/thrust plain bearings. Self-lubricating Bearings
We manufacture copper-based bearings and guide elements with solid lubricant deposits called "MFA". These bearings are appropriate for applications with high loads and low speeds and when oil or grease lubrication are not desired or not available. Our proprietary solid lubricant compound is superior to the usual graphite inserts.
