Dear Sir/Madam I have been designing/rendering as a hobby for around 10 years now, designing churches, cinemas, theatres, pipe organs, houses, castles, halls, ballrooms and so on. I use Google Sketchup and Kerkythea for this. I have no professional experience and no qualifications in design, although I am keen to turn my skills into a full time job. However, I do not know which “sector” I would fit into and I was wondering if you could give some advice on that part. I have attatched several examples of my work and I hope to hear from you soon. Ayr's Gaiety Theatre in its 1938 appearance.

Ayr Gaiety Theatre Foyer. The current foyer is to the left and my redesign to the right.

  • Art Deco Lounge/small scale cinema/Music venue.

    Art Moderne cinema foyer.

  • New Display case for the original 1935 Wurlitzer organ console of the Empress Ballroom, Winter- Gardens, Blackpool. The case is designed in a similar fashion to that of the display cases in the Floral Hall in Blackpools Winter-Gardens.

The console for the new organ which is being currently installed in the Empress Ballroom.

  • Design for a 4,000 seat theatre, complete with stage set.

The same design, but with curtain down and full lighting.

  • Art Deco cinema/music/performance space.

Music venue/hall/Ballroom. The reason for this rendering being like this is because my computer didn't have the power to render the complete model, so unfortunately only half was rendered.

  • A small chapel/church
