What is the Renaissance?● Renaissance means “Rebirth”● It was born with the

intellectual movement called Humanism

● Art was seen as a branch of knowledge

● Birth of renaissance architecture began in Florence, Italy

● 1300-1700● Began after Gothic Style

Space: Open ceilings in the Florence Cathedral due to vaulted ceilings
