Grade 6: Biographical Timeline 1. Choose one of the four presidents in office during the 1960s:

● Dwight D. Eisenhower ● John F. Kennedy (make sure you are on the John F. article, because there is also just

a John) ● Lyndon B. Johnson ● Richard M. Nixon

2. Use Britannica School (remember, the username and password is cps) to research the president.

3. Complete the Biographical Timeline in Google Classroom. Watch this video, which includes some suggestions for completing this assignment correctly.

Grade 7: Career Exploration 1. Using the Occupational Outlook Handbook, select two (2) careers that you would like to

research. Create a Google Sheet attached to this assignment and add the careers to the A column. Make sure they are careers, and not career clusters (architect is a career vs. architecture and construction is a career cluster). See the sample Google Sheet in Google Classroom.

2. Now, using the Occupational Outlook Handbook, research the 3 jobs you chose. Insert a new row 1 in your Google Sheet, and create the following headings:

● Column A: Occupation ● Column B: Median pay (yearly) ● Column C: Education needed ● Column D: Work experience needed ● Column E: On-the-job training ● Column F: Job outlook ● Column G: Description (what people do in this job)

3. Add the information you found to your Google Sheet.  4. Watch this video for specific directions on completing this assignment.

Grade 8: EOE (End of Elementary) Project, Modified for Remote Learning Normally at this time of the school year, 8th grade students would be working on their EOE project, a project where students pick their topic, set their weekly goals and then are responsible to themselves (and me!) for completing their goal each week, with a final presentation in week 4.

The first part of this project (the first grade) is to complete the EOE (End of Elementary) Project Proposal.

Here are the project requirements:  ● The topic must be appropriate for school. ● You will need to create at least 3 questions that you have about this topic (of course, these

questions will be subject to change when you start researching).

● There must be a research component, meaning that you will use databases (username and password is cps), websites, etc. to get information.

● The project must include a bibliography, in correct and full APA format (copy and paste for databases and use the EasyBib add on for websites and print materials).

● The presentation of information is up to you, but could be, for example, an Adobe Spark Video, Google Slides, a comic strip, or a report in Google Docs (in your own words, of course).

● You can work with no more than 3 people if you want to, but you will have to coordinate with your group.

Watch this video for specific directions on completing this assignment.
