REMEMBRANCE DAY On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th
month: WE WILL REMEMBER.
Thank you to our Canadian Armed Forces
personnel who have served,
and are serving, in the army,
navy and air force to ensure
our liberties and safety are not lost. The
extreme sacrifice given by so many will never
be forgotten. We owe you more than one day of
gratitude for all that you have done, and
continue to do, on our behalf to keep us safe
and to provide hope for all people that peace
can and will be maintained. The presence of our
Canadian military around the globe has, and
continues to bring, comfort and assurance that
peace is possible and can be maintained.
For the days spent away from your families and
home, we thank you. For the hours spent in
training, we thank you. For the times you have
placed yourself in danger to maintain our safety,
we thank you. For being part of a peace-
keeping force willing to go where needed
around the world, we thank you. For those who
have given the ultimate sacrifice, we thank you.
To the 95,000 active military personnel and the
51,000 Reservists: We thank you.

of the road to bring it up to current standards.
The work is scheduled for completion by mid-
November.
The result will be a road of higher quality that
will service the community for years to come.
UPDATE ON PETITION – LUCASVILLE ROAD | SACKVILLE DRIVE CROSSWALK REQUEST HRM Traffic Analysts and Engineers have met
to discuss the request by area residents for a
crosswalk at Lucasville Road and Sackville
Drive to facilitate safety for students walking to
and from Sackville Heights Elementary School.
A study was done earlier in the spring to obtain
pedestrian data; at that time the counts did not
warrant a crosswalk. Another count is planned
for this fall. Staff will also gather speed data for
this location. A further update will be provided
once the results of the data collection are
available.
