THE WORSHIP OF GOD

November 1, 2020

All Saints Day

Welcome, Announcements & Opening Prayer

Recognition of Retired Teachers

Prelude And Lighting Of The Candles

Hymn of Praise “For All The Saints” William W. How, 1864

For all the saints, who from their labors rest,

Who thee by faith before the world confessed,

Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia, Alleluia!

From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast,

Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,

Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost: Alleluia, Alleluia!

Affirmation of Faith I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his

only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered

under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he

ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence

he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy

catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the

body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the

beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen! Amen!

Morning Prayer / The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as

we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us

from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Hymn of Dedication “Hymn Of Promise” Natalie Sleeth,, 1986

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree;

In cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!

In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be,

Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning, in our time, infinity;

In our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity.

In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory,

Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

Offering Of Ourselves And Our Gifts to God

Anthem “Farther Along” Men's Ensemble

Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise

Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Scripture Reading

Matthew 5:13-16

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its saltiness, how will it become salty

again? It’s good for nothing except to be thrown away and trampled under people’s

feet. 14 You are the light of the world. A city on top of a hill can’t be hidden.15 Neither

do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on top of a

lampstand, and it shines on all who are in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light

shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father

who is in heaven.
