From Pastor Randy…

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (Ps. 23:1-3 ESV)

I have been considering lately some of the unforeseen things this pandemic and shutdown have caused. For example, I have been wondering if this will turn us all into hippies. I don’t mean by driving Volkswagen minibuses with flowers on the side. I mean by us all having long hair. With the barber shops and hair salons closed our hair is not as attended to as it normally is. I imagine the lines will be long once those shops open again. Another thing is that our cars should last a little longer. The reason of course is that we are not driving as much as we normally do which means less wear and tear, fewer supplies to make it run, like gas, and less stress on our part being stuck in traffic. So maybe there are a few good things to come from all this too; unless you happen to be an automobile manufacturer. Also along with many stores being closed and Amazon being overwrought maybe we are spending less. Good for us, not so for the economy. Of course many not allowed in the labor force puts quite a dent in the economy as well. So maybe in a way it’s good that we are spending less at the moment. Or is it bad? I guess that the pandemic and shutdown are therefore turning us into long-haired, low driving, frugal individuals. You can understand why I have been considering this. But what this has not been turning us into is Godless people. Our God, our Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are still as with us now as God has always been – maybe even more so. God never promised that life on Earth would be without trials.

ATTENDANCE & OFFERING REPORT

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

~ 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 ~

Thank you to everyone who participated in decorating

the Easter cross and to those who showed up for

our drive-in service making our Easter service so

SUNDAY SCHOOL REPORT

There will be NO Sunday school classes through the remainder of the season. Classes will resume after

Summer.

We are in need of an additional Sunday school teacher for the children’s Sunday school. Please let Dorothy,

Sherry or Wendi in the office know, if you are interested in teaching a class beginning in September.

Our Sunday school staff is working tirelessly to try to keep the children informed, engaged, and active with

the Lord during this unsure time. We are sending packets in the mail as well as weekly e-mails. If your child has not been receiving packets or e-mails and

would like to please let the office or a Sunday school teacher know. If you receive the “Sermons 4 Kids” by e-mail there are additional links of talking topics and

activities for children to do. Please use this opportunity to become a kid again! Refocus on how your child or grandchild learns and reacts to the Lord and the world around them. Remember: Every day may not be good,

but there is something good in every day!

Every generation from the time of Adam and Eve has discovered this. Even after Jesus came the times of trials has still continued. We were never promised that by being a believer and follower of Jesus that all would be a rose garden from then on out. The problem that we are discovering to be all to true at the moment is that in the rose garden there are thorns. And we often allow the few thorns to take our focus away from what God is still providing because He loves us. While many if not all of us ache for are things to be back to the normal, the way we are used to, the reality is that particular normal may truly be a thing of the past. But don’t despair. God still provides. God will take care of us just as He has done for thousands of years. The sun still shines. The rain still falls. (Although, it could fall somewhat more.) Perhaps it’s a matter of relaxing a little and relying on the grace of God. We are blessed to know where our destination lies at the end of our journey. But we are equally blessed to learn from the journey on our way there. So be at peace, for God is with you. Things may change. But don’t let a few thorns keep you from smelling the roses as well. God’s Peace, Pastor Randy Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Ps. 23:4-6 ESV)
