System requirements This section describes the hardware and software requirements for JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization 8.1.0.0.

For application-specific hardware and software requirements, see the individual product Release Notes on the SCPO image.

SCPO SCPO version 8.1.0.0 requires JDA Platform version 8.1.0.0 software. See the JDA Platform Release Notes 8.1.0.0 for general hardware and software requirements. The Release Notes lists the supported operating systems, required patches, database software, and supported browsers.

Most SCPO version 8.1.0.0 applications support Oracle WebLogic on all platforms. IBM WebSphere is supported for selected SCPO products on AIX only. See the specific application Release Notes for exceptions to platform and application server coverage for specific SCPO products. JDA Platform provides a thin installation to support the service runtime environment (SRE) framework. SCPO also has an SRE component. Refer to the JDA Platform Release Notes 8.1.0.0 for hardware and software requirements for JDAs SRE components.

Requirements for Graphs in SCPO UIs The following table lists the third party tools requirement in order to view graphs in various SCPO Product User Interfaces. For more information on the versions of these tools, see JDA Platform Release Notes 8.1.0.0.

Installation notes JDA Platform 8.1.0.0 must be installed before installing JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization. Refer to the JDA Platform Installation/Administration Guide for procedures on installing and configuring JDA Platform.

Before you install SCPO, review Hardware and Software Requirements and read the JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization Installation/Administration Guide. The Guide contains detailed procedures for installing and configuring SCPO and for upgrading from the following releases:

If you configure a standalone JDA Platform SRE machine, install the JDA Platform SRE installation before you install SCPO SRE. Refer to the JDA Platform Installation/Administration Guide for procedures on installing JDA Platform SRE, and then install SCPO SRE using the procedures in the JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization Installation/Administration Guide.

Upgrade from previous versions This section highlights changes that you should be aware of when migrating from the previous release of SCPO.

Data Conversion Scripts If you are migrating from a previous version to the 8.1.0.0 database, run ManugisticsPkg.sql

and enroll_app_schema.sql scripts after importing the database into the supported version of Oracle and before starting the migration. See the JDA Platform Installation and Administration Guide for more information on running these scripts.

After importing a database to a different Foundation schema owner than in the previous database, you must run change_schema_name.sql to update the Foundation schema owner and the script update_app_synonyms.sql as the Oracle system user to update the application synonyms with the changed JDA Foundation schema name.

Adding resources to existing roles after migration After migration, add any new entities or feature resources to relevant roles in the Security Manager module. See the JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization Installation/Administration Guide for features and roles that are new in 8.1.0.0.



Note: These new resources are not added to the default SCPO roles (SCPOAdmin and SCPOViewOnly) during a migration. So, if there are dependencies on these roles, add the relevant resources to the role.


Application enhancements

Chapter 2. Application enhancements Release 8.1.0.0 of JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization provides the following new enhancements:

Pattern Calendar A new Calendar Model, Pattern calendar, is added to the SCPO application. The pattern calendar allows you to set a specific pattern for a calendar. You can use the following pre-defined patterns:

Days of the week: Applies on specific days of the week.

Everyday: Applies on every day of the week that is from Monday to Sunday.

Every N Days: Repeats itself for every N days.

Weekdays: Applies on weekdays that are from Monday to Friday.

Weekends: Applies on weekends that are from Saturday and Sunday.

Day of the month: Applies on a specific day of the month.

Day of the year: Applies on a specific day of the year.

Every hour: Applies for every hour.

Every minute: Applies for every minute.

SKUs to Process A new field, SKUs to Process, is added on the Scenario Manager page which allows you to select SKUs to be loaded for a scenario. One of the following options can be selected:

Destinations and Parents: Loads all SKUs that are either destinations or parents of the search.

Sources and Subordinates: Loads all SKUs that are sources or subordinates of the search SKUs.

All Related SKUs: Loads all SKUs connected to your search.

Search SKUs Only: Loads only the SKUs in your search.

Dashboard Manager support for Demand Planner and Replenishment Planner As an administrator, you can use this page to configure the dashboard for the following profiles:

Replenishment Planner

Dashboard Manager allows you to link a user to a profile, define goals for various business metrics, configure widgets, and configure navigation options defined for the profile. Dashboard Manager consists of the following tabs:

Manage Users: Allows you to link a user to a profile.

Manage Goals: Allows you to define goals for various business metrics.

Manage Widgets: Allows you to define group by options used to group the data and display in the widgets.


Application enhancements

Manage Workflows: Allows you to define navigation options for a profile.

Database patch rollback Rolling back of the application database to the previous patch level is added. All changes including the changes in the structure of the schema as well as the data that is added or modified as part of applying the patch can be rolled back. This option is available for both partial and full patch. However, you can roll back only to a single previous level where the database patch was applied.

Enhanced support for changes in partial patch The partial patch framework has been enhanced to support patching additional file types such as XML files, command files (.cmd, .bat or .sh), and migration files (.sql) files to avoid manual instructions.

Flexible Editor support in scenario mode The SCPO applications now support Flexible Editor in scenario mode for tables created on the Compressed Data Storage enabled tables.

Compressed Data Storage support for the DFUToSKUFcst table Compressed Data Storage is an alternate method of storing data, and is now supported for the DFUToSKUFcst table to improve the performance of the SRE processes.

Creation of Flexible Editor on DFUToSKUFcst The SCPO applications now support the creation of Flexible Editor on the DFUToSKUFcst Compressed Data Storage enabled table.

Resolved issues

Chapter 3. Resolved issues This chapter describes resolutions and solutions for customer-reported issues since the last release of JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization.

Case ID Issue

1072603 (SCPOAR-2064)

Issue: Reloading the Inventory Planning Optimization scenario displays the unique constraint violation error. Solution: The SIM_RES table was not unloaded for the Inventory Planning Optimization scenario. Modified the code to unload the SIM_RES table while reloading the optimization.

1091474 (SCPOAR-2409)

Issue: In Scenario Manager, changing base scenario to "Live" generates an error.

Solution: Updated code to update and sort the application list correctly.

1082875 (SCPOAR-2166)

Issue: When Compressed Database Storage is enabled, all records are not retrieved in the Flexible Editor pages with the Time Allocation option enabled.

Solution: Updated code to allow the entire data set to be loaded.

1066514 (SCPOAR-2136)

Issue: Unwanted trace statements of connection are found in server logs if a process is started from a separate installation from the application server.

Solution: Removed reference to the scpo_config.xml file in the default properties of the connection pool and added reference to the dbconnection.properties files instead.

1077468 (SCPOAR-2129)

Issue: The Calendar manager properties page does not consider the Directory Publishing resource permissions, which enables all users to edit the properties.

Solution: Updated the conditions to ensure that the Calendar manager properties page considers the Directory Publishing resource permissions.

1072465 (SCPOAR-2128)

Issue: When using Copy SKU with the 'Item' and Data = Production copy options, all the data is updated properly, but the BOM.OFFSET field is not copied.

Solution: Updated code to ensure that the BOM.OFFSET field is included when updating the BOM table.

1075542 (SCPOAR-2121)

Issue: In Flexible Editor for a table that uses the Compressed Data Storage format, running a large search results in out of memory issue even if the 'SQLPlanRecordCountHardLimit' property is set to limit retrieval.

Solution: Added an additional check to determine the record count when cardinality is not returned correctly from the metadata.

1081399 (SCPOAR-2135)

Issue: Records cannot be exported from the Flexible Editor pages based on the Compressed Data Storage enabled tables with the paging option enabled.

Solution: The export is not handled through the application server, but through a SRE process. Code has been modified to ensure that the SQLPlanCostHardLimit option is not checked during export.

Chapter 4. Information alerts This chapter provides alert information about version 8.1.0.0 of JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization.

Case ID Issue

ESP-2665 Issue: End Time is not respected for the Review, RecShip, Demand, and Reporting calendars, if the Calendar Model is Pattern Calendar.

ESP-2623 Issue: Period Value (PerWt) is not displayed in the Monthly grid of Demand Calendar, if the Calendar Model is Pattern Calendar.

Issue Issue: SCPOAR-1080

In the help content for section Calendars > Calendar types > Reporting calendar in the JDA Supply Chain Planning and Optimization Online Expert, the reporting period for weeks is specified incorrectly. Solution: The correct reporting period is:
