Whereas there is a need for an HIB specialist for the 2014 summer school, Be it resolved that a per diem stipend in the amount of $249.50 shall be paid to Diana Englese as the HIB specialist for the 2014 summer school program, Be it further resolved that the Board’s officers and employees are authorized to take all actions necessary to effectuate this resolution. Ed.D, Superintendent of Schools: Superintendent of Schools presented the monthly Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying report to Trustees on incidents that occurred at the North Bergen High School Summer School on July 2, 2014 (as per attached). AP Scores—Grades one through five have shown a spectacular substantial increase in their scores. We will continue with the same plan towards their educational growth. Also, we will make sure their improvements get publicized. “Science Week” has been publicized in The North Bergen Reporter. Grades three to eight have participated. Each grade had its own challenge. Third grade built rovers. Fourth grade built Landers. Fifth grade learned robotics. Sixth grade learned drag with parachutes. Seventh and Eighth grades are holding science fairs. In the future, we are going to enhance the project-based assessment. It is an intriguing way to wrap up a school year with something that is both informative and fun.
