REGRA 4was formed 17 years ago in Curitiba, south of Brazil. The
group has a discography of 4 Albums all released
independently: Max Single Regra 4 (2001); Samba Groove: a Volta
do Homem pro Mato (2005); Quando a Mquina
Parar (2008) and Filhos do Rio Belm (2012).
The bands sound is a mix of Afro-Brazilianrhythms (samba, cco,
ijexa, frevo, maculel, maracatu, jongo, ilu) with live
electronic music and Rock, resulting in a Contemporary
MPB(Brazilian Popular Music).
In July 2011 REGRA 4conquered international recognition and
space in their first European Tour when they performed at
the 45th
Mountreux Jazz Festivaland at the 18th
Montreux Meets Brienz, both in Switzerland.
In July 2013 REGRA 4 released their first DVD Filhos do Rio Belm
in Switzerland, France and Portugal on their
second European Tour. It was a 21-day tour performing at
festivals such as Fte de la Musique(Vence, France), Tempo
Latino, and Sleepness Festival(both in Switzerland). Regra 4 was
also invited to perform at the Soy Latino Festivalin
Rome, Italy.
Now the group is working on their 5 thCD - PATRAto be released
in 2014.
In march 2014 REGRA 4performed two official showcases at the
SXSW South by Southwest Festival in Austin, TX
(USA).
