Registration Details
The New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies, Inc. (NJAMHAA) is a statewide trade association representing hospital-based and freestanding organizations that provide mental healthcare, substance use treatment and a broad range of other support services to children and adults with mental health, behavioral, emotional and substance use disorders.
NJAMHAA and the statewide Integrated Case Management Services (ICMS) Leadership Committee worked together to develop a dynamic and comprehensive case management conference especially tailored to meet the needs of all community based case management programs, such as: • ICMS• Involuntary Outpatient Commitment (IOC)• Justice Involved Services (JIS)• Project for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness
(PATH)• Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST)• Supportive Housing (SH)• And others
The purpose of this conference is to support and enhance communication among case managers to promote the general advancement of best practices and service delivery, and to promote a shared commitment to individuals with psychiatric issues in need of or utilizing case management services.

In order to receive continuing education credits, attendees must sign in and out at the conference registration table. Attendees must also sign in and out of each session attended and submit his/her complete evaluation. Course Description: This presentation will suggest and explain case management strategies that are designed to engage individuals with serious mental illness and how to maintain them in treatment in a fee-for-service payment environment where the volume of appropriate services delivered determines agencies’ revenues. Participants will also gain an overview of the Interim Management Entity (IME), which provides referrals to addiction treatment providers for all New Jersey residents who are enrolled in or are eligible for Medicaid funded treatment services. In addition, the IME manages utilization at all levels of care, conducts utilization reviews and authorizes providers’ requests for admission to and continuation of addiction treatment.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:• Anticipate and prepare for upcoming changes in
behavioral health care that will impact providers’ processes.

Course Description: The Hearing Distressing Voices experience allows participants to have a glimpse into the lived experience of trying to function and perform tasks while being symptomatic. Participants also gain empathy toward persons who hear voices.

Workshop Description: This interactive workshop will examine the complex presentation of persons with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). This workshop’s purpose is to increase the understanding of BPD from the perspective of biological and psychosocial models. Participants will be given an opportunity to explore and better understand their own responses as mental health professionals when supporting individuals diagnosed with BPD. With the understanding of strategies for positive interventions, participants will be better equipped in their roles of helping persons with BPD to achieve lives of wellness and recovery.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:• Explain the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual 5definition
of personality disorder and list the three clusters of disorders.
• Explain the possible causes of BPD. • Explain the prevalence of BPD and risk of co-morbidity

Workshop FSuicide Prevention and Awareness for Mental Health Professionals Michael D’Amico MSW, LCSWDirector of Children and Families Services, Oaks Integrated Care Workshop Description: This training is designed to educate staff working in the mentalhealthfieldonthetopicofsuicide,includingprevention, awareness, assessment and treatment. Attendees will learn to detect warning signs in adults and adolescents involved in treatment and case management services. The workshop will correct myths about suicide and develop awareness for professionals working with individuals who are at risk or actively suicidal. Lastly, the workshop will review best practices with regard to screening, safety planning, engagement and follow-up of individuals receiving services regarding their suicidal risk

This pertains to individuals who register themselves, as well as individuals who are registered by others.
Cancellation, Substitution and Refund PolicyAttendee registrants (not sponsors or exhibitors), must cancel registrations IN WRITING ONLY to Julie Moy via fax at 609-838-5489 or e-mail at [email protected], by 4:00 p.m., seven calendar days prior to the conference start date in order to receive a 100 percent refund. Substitute registrations can be made after that date. No-show registrants will still be responsible for payment of their registration fees IN FULL and will be invoiced accordingly. Phone calls and voicemails will not be accepted as a means of cancellation.
Sponsors and exhibitor registrants must cancel registrations IN WRITING ONLY by 4:00 p.m., 30 calendar days prior to the conference in order to receive a 100 percent refund of the registration fee. If you cancel your registration between
15 and 29 days prior to the conference start date, you will receive only a 50 percent refund of the registration fee. No refunds will be made within 15 or fewer days of the start date. Phone calls and voicemails will not be accepted as a means of cancellation.
Grievance PolicyShouldanyregistrantbedissatisfiedwiththequalityoftheir continuing education program or exhibiting experience during this event, a request in writing, explaining why you weredissatisfied,mustbesubmittedtoNJAMHAAwithinfivebusinessdaysoftheconclusionoftheconference/training in order to receive a full refund of registration fees. Payment Information and Insufficient FundsOnline payments may be made in the form of a Visa or MasterCard. Checks are also accepted, made payable to “Accounts Payable” and mailed to NJAMHAA, 3575 Quakerbridge Road, Suite 102, Mercerville, NJ 08619. If a credit card is declined for any reason, a $15 fee will be applied to your invoice and be required as payment. If a checkisreturnedbythebankduetoinsufficientfunds,a$35fee will be applied to your invoice and required as payment. Individuals holding outstanding balances will be ineligible to attend future NJAMHAA conferences or trainings until the outstanding balances are paid in full. Each individual with an outstanding balance that has been carried for more than 30 days will incur a $25 late fee, which will be applied to the invoice and required as payment.
