1.0 INTRODUCTION

This report describes a regional aeromagnetic survey carried out over an area which includesthe Fort à la Corne diamond area and a large area surrounding the known kimberlites.

Flying was was carried out from April 3 to June 16, 2004, by Goldak Airborne Surveys, out oftheir office in Saskatoon (see technical report, Appendix A).

2.0 PROPERTY DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION

The property is contained within the area flown. Appendix B is a list of the claims, and maps ofthe claims are presented as one of the products produced by Goldak, Appendix A.

3.0 ACCESSIBILITY, CLIMATE, INFRASTRUCTURE, PHYSIOGRAPHY

The survey area is well served by provincial highways and grid roads. Paved provincialHighway 55 passes east-west through the southern third of the area. Highways 120 and 106 gonorth from highway 55. South of highway 55, grid roads provide access to the cultivated areas.The Fort à la Corne Forest is served by the Division Road, passing east-west through the entireforest. The Inland Trail, the Torch Trail, and the Shipman Trail go north from the DivisionRoad to the grid road system. Highway 11 passes close to the western boundary of the area.Highway 6 forms the eastern survey boundary south of highway 55. North of the cleared landaccess is poorer, with only occasional bush roads.

The terrain is a fairly flat, with low local relief. Average elevation is 425 metres above sea level.The climate is a typical mid-continental type, dry (averaging 405mm rainfall), with extremeseasonal temperature variations, commonly from -35ºC to +35ºC. Work can be carried out allyear round, although some roads can be in poor driving condition in the spring.

The City of Prince Albert is the largest urban centre in the survey area, and is in thesouthwestern corner of the survey area. Some services and supplies are available there.

4.0. PREVIOUS WORK

Some airborne surveys have been done over parts of the area covered by this survey, but this isthe first time the entire area has been surveyed in one program.

Many other types of work have been carried out in the area surveyed. ground magnetic surveyshave been done to check many airborne anomalies from previous surveys. drilling has beendone by many people to check anomalies found by ground and/or aeromagnetic surveys.

5.0 GEOLOGICAL SETTING

5.1. REGIONAL GEOLOGY and GEOPHYSICS

The Precambrian basement in the Fort à la Corne diamond area consists of Proterozoic rocks ofthe Trans-Hudson orogen. Recent work (Chiarenzelli et al, 1987, Collerson et al, 1989, Greenet al, 1980) has demonstrated that this component sits on an Archean basement, which has beendeformed and thickened by the collision of the crustal blocks. This means that the regionsatisfies Clifford’s Rule, which states that economic kimberlites only occur in cratonic nuclei ofArchean age. This is a statement of empirical fact based on African experience, and appears tobe true of the Siberian diamond fields and others.

Overlying the Precambrian basement are the Phanerozoic rocks of the interior sedimentarybasin. The Phanerozoic section in Saskatchewan is up to 3200 m thick in the southern part ofthe province, but thins northward to the exposed edge of the Shield. Paleozoic rocks fromCambrian to Mississippian age occur, but the section is not everywhere complete. From LateMississippian to Early Jurassic the region experienced a period of uplift, and no sedimentationoccurred. Stratigraphy of the Phanerozoic section is a useful tool in exploration for kimberlites. Up tonow, evidence indicated that all of the known kimberlites are about 95 to 100 million years old,so the most likely rock units are those of that age. Recently (B. Jellicoe, May 2001, pers.comm.), evidence has been accumulating which indicates that the period of kimberlitic intrusionmay have spanned 20 million years.

The country rocks which are the same age as the kimberlites are Cretaceous mudstones, whichare not fully consolidated. They are underlain by Mannville sands which are full of water. In thefew holes the writer has drilled through the Mannville, the underlying rocks are carbonates,which are completely dry. The Fort à la Corne kimberlites apparently owe their shape to thefact that up to the base of the Mannville, the rocks are dry. The hot kimberlitic magma passedthrough the dry rocks, but when they hit the water-filled sands they caused a magmatophreaticexplosion, blowing a bowl-shaped hole in the sands and mudstones, which subsequently filledwith kimberlite. The Saskatchewan kimberlites have large surface areas because of this.

Structures in the basement and in the Phanerozoic rocks are believed to have been important inproviding conduits to surface for the kimberlitic magmas. Gent (1989, 1992) has described anumber of sub-Phanerozoic basement structures, interpreted from regional gravity andmagnetic data produced by the Geological Survey of Canada. These include boundariesbetween crustal blocks, axes of gravity highs and lows, and faults with measurable horizontalseparation. He refers particularly to the change in trends of gravity readings on either side ofan interpreted block centred under Prince Albert and Saskatoon. The eastern boundary passesthrough the Fort à la Corne kimberlites. Any of these structures could provide access todiatreme intrusions.

Collerson et al (1989) suggest that kimberlitic intrusion from the Sturgeon Lake area eastwardsto the Manitoba border may have been controlled by a northeasterly extension of the GreatNorthern Explorers Ltd. Assessment work report 101047025 Sask Ltd 2

Falls Tectonic Zone, which is exposed in Montana.

Major structures have been mapped in the Phanerozoic basin using extensive data accumulatedby Saskatchewan Energy and Mines, including gravity, seismic and well log data. All but one ofthe known structures are thought to be reflections of structures in the Precambrian basement.The interpretations here are by Ghent, 1989.

The longest structure, the Shaunavon linear, is defined by highly fractured calcilutites in theJurassic Shaunavon formation, and a depression in the Lower Cretaceous erosional surface. Italigns with the drainage divide between the South Saskatchewan River system and the OldWives Lake- Qu'Appelle River system. Subsurface correlation of strata indicates thatconsiderable tectonic arching has occurred along this trend. The Punnichy Arch trends east-west, and is known to have been active during Late Albian time,during deposition of uppermost Lower Cretaceous rocks, which is the Mannville Group in thearea of the Saskatchewan diamond play. The topographic high over this structure may indicatethat there has been some tectonic arching since the Albian. Evidence exists that some of thekimberlites in Saskatchewan are of about Albian age, or a bit younger.

The Molanosa Arch is near the northern edge of the Phanerozoic basin, and oil well data arescarce there. Available evidence suggests that it has been active over a long time, particularlyduring the Devonian and Jurassic, but also more recently.

The Val Marie Arch deserves particular mention because there are kimberlitic intrusionsnearby, suggesting a genetic link. It was active during late Cretaceous time. Since there isevidence of Mid-Cretaceous kimberlitic intrusion elsewhere in the province, other archstructures whose active period spans this time may have permitted the intrusion of kimberlite.

The Sweetgrass-North Battleford Arch is a major, complex structure. At times, it appears tohave included the Swift Current Platform (including the Cypress Hills) and had a total verticalrise of about 1200 metres. The region subsided, leaving the Cypress Hills Arch and theSweetgrass-North Battleford Arch.

A number of intrusions are known in the Phanerozoic basin, and all but one are diatremes. Ofthe diatremes, some are kimberlitic, as at Fort à la Corne. The kimberlites best described in thepublic domain are those of the JV.

Jellicoe (2000) states that the kimberlites of Kensington/De Beers et al are crater facies, and arecomposed of mixed olivine and lapilli pyroclastics, with 2 generations of olivine. Thegroundmass consists of monticellite, perovskite, spinel, serpentine and carbonate. Xenocrystsinclude olivine, garnet, ilmenite and spinel. Xenolithic fragments include eclogite, peridotite,basement rocks, Paleozoic carbonates, and Cretaceous clastic rocks.

Drilling results and additional ground magnetic and gravity surveys have shown the best knownkimberlite bodies to be bedded, and to have a very different shape from most known kimberlitebodies. In most of the well-known diamond mines in Africa, for example, and in those in theNorthern Explorers Ltd. Assessment work report 101047025 Sask Ltd 3

NWT in Canada, the upper portions of the kimberlites bodies have been eroded, leaving onlythe feeder pipe, which has a "carrot" shape, getting smaller in diameter with depth. However, inthe Fort à la Corne swarm, the tops of the kimberlitic volcanic edifices are completelypreserved, and they are shaped more or less like a soup bowl, with two larger horizontaldimensions, and one smaller vertical dimension. Several of these have an inferred geologicalresource (based on a few holes and on geophysical modeling) in excess of 100 million tonnes,one has nearly a billion tons, and one group of five which are close together, or perhapscoalescing, contain about 2 billion tons of kimberlite. There are thus huge volumes ofkimberlite within a few hundred metres of the surface.

The Fort à la Corne swarm of kimberlitic bodies is the largest swarm known in the world, andsome of the bodies are the largest known such bodies in the world.

The Fort à la Corne kimberlites are covered with about 100 to 120 metres of unconsolidatedPleistocene glacial deposits.

K/Ar dating of phlogopite in the kimberlite, and dating by microfossils in the enclosing rocksgave an age of 94 to 96 million years, although Leahy (1996) has proposed an age of 100 Ma.The bodies are at or very close to the Pleistocene erosional surface, under about 100 m ofoverburden. The presence of crater facies rocks in the core indicates that erosion is slight.

All of the kimberlites discovered in the survey area to date have been found using magnetics.The kimberlites show up as positive anomalies with respect to the enclosing rocks. Some of theanomalies caused by the known kimberlites are so large that they show up on the governmentaeromagnetic maps, and others have been found by low-level surveys by explorationcompanies.

6.0 AIRBORNE MAGNETIC SURVEY

6.1 PURPOSE

This survey was undertaken to look for smaller bodies than those discovered to date, or thosewith lower magnetic susceptibility, or those composed only partly of kimberlite phases whichshow up magnetically.

6.2 DETAILS OF SURVEY

The technical details of the survey are given in Appendix A

6.3 RESULTS

As expected, the survey clearly showed the known kimberlites in the main Fort à la Corneswarm, the Snowden group, those near Foxford, the Dizzy kimberlite, and those in the generalarea of Candle Lake. Also as expected, it showed many cultural features, since the area of thesurvey includes the city of Prince Albert, many villages, and many farms. A farmstead looks likeNorthern Explorers Ltd. a small kimberlite to this and other airborne systems. Many of the cultural features can beeliminated by comparing the magnetic maps with the topographic data. Villages, power linesand most farm buildings can be eliminated in this way. Features near roads can be investigatedby carrying out a "drive-by" survey. By this method, buildings built since the topographic datawere obtained, and other cultural features can be eliminated. Features with no obvious culturalcause, and which appear to be caused by a source significantly above the Precambrian basementare targets for ground magnetic surveys. Follow-up work by all of these methods was done onanomalies picked from the Goldak data.

Few anomalies likely to be caused by completely unknown kimberlites survived the eliminationslisted above. Further processing, consisting of filtering, was carried out on the raw data. Theresulting targets are listed below in table 1. Some have been investigated, and some have notyet been, as noted in the column headed "results".

7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

1. This is a very good data set for a large area including and surrounding the Fort à laCorne diamond area.

2. Some anomalies have been selected from the data for follow-up, and some of thesehave been investigated. The remaining ones should be investigated by groundmagnetic surveys to see if they might be drill targets.

1. INTRODUCTION This report describes an airborne geophysical survey carried out over the Fort à la Corne Forest area of Central Saskatchewan. The tri-axial magnetic gradiometer survey was carried out by Goldak Airborne Surveys (GOLDAK) on behalf of Casavant Mining Limited (CMKM) between April 3 and June 16, 2004. Aircraft equipment operated included four cesium vapor, digitally compensated magnetometers, a GPS real-time and post-corrected differential positioning system, a flight path recovery camera, VHS titling and recording system, as well as radar and barometric altimeters. All data was recorded digitally in GEDAS binary file format. Reference ground equipment included two GEM Systems GSM-19W Overhauser magnetometers and a Novatel 12 channel GPS base station. The GPS was set up at the base of operations for differential post-flight corrections while the magnetometers were installed in remote locations away from traffic and cultural interference. All equipment installations are covered in more detail in Section 6 of this report. Forty six flights were required to complete the survey block. The traverse lines were flown on a spacing of 200 meters with a control line separation of 1500 meters. Aircraft height was specified at 80 meters above ground. Saskatoon, SK was used as the base of operations for this survey.

2. SURVEY AREA LOCATION The Fort à la Corne survey area is approximately centered 50 km northeast of the community of Prince Albert, SK; the mid point is roughly at 53° 30’ N, 105° 06’ W. The block consisted of 52,900 line kilometers of traverse lines flown 0° UTM North with Tie lines flown perpendicular to the survey lines. Prior to the survey the CMKM provided GOLDAK with coordinates for flying. They are defined by the following WGS84 UTM Zone 13 coordinates

3. DATA SPECIFICATION Line Spacing Traverse Lines bearing: 0°/180° nominal spacing: 200 m tolerance: 50 m over 1000 m (25%) no lines were to cross Control Lines bearing: 90°/270° nominal spacing: 1500 m Altitude Altitude control was accomplished by using Goldak’s GEDAS auto-drape system. Input topographic data for the GEDAS system was acquired from publicly available data generated by the NASA Radar Topography Shuttle Mission.

Diurnal A maximum diurnal tolerance of 2nT (peak to peak) deviation from a long chord equivalent to a period of 25 seconds was not to be exceeded. This time period represents the time required to fly between two control lines. Magnetic Noise The magnetic noise was not to exceed 0.1 nT in the 4th digital difference over a distance of 1000 m. All data was fully examined in the field and judged to have met the above parameters.

4. AIRCRAFT AND EQUIPMENT

4.1 Aircraft The two aircraft used in this survey were Piper PA-31 Navajos, registrations C-GJBA and C-GJBB, owned and operated by Goldak Airborne Surveys. Each aircraft is fitted with a 3-meter stinger attached to the rear fuselage on the centerline of the aircraft. The attitude sensing fluxgate magnetometer is positioned at the midpoint of the stinger. Two sensors separated vertically are mounted in the aft end of the tail stinger. The aircraft also has magnetometers installed in composite pods on each wingtip. The pods mount the sensors 1.2 meters outboard of the aircraft wingtip. The four magnetometers form a three-axis gradiometer with following dimensions: Lateral - 14.865m Longitudinal - 8.560 m Vertical - 2.229 m The aircraft has been extensively modified, both mechanically and electrically, to minimize the effects of maneuvering on the measured magnetic field. The aircraft has demonstrated Figure of Merit of less than 0.6 nT as measured to GSC specification. Typical FOMs under less than ideal calibration environments are 0.8 nT for the tail magnetometers. This low level of magnetic noise is considered to be exceptional by experts at the National Research Council.

4.2 Magnetometer and Compensation The airborne magnetometers used are a matched set of Geometrics G-822A optically pumped cesium vapor types with sensitivity of 0.005 nT. The magnetometer’s Larmor signal is decoupled and counted by a RMS Instruments AADCII compensator, and data produced at a rate of 10 Hz with a resolution of 0.001 nT. The data bandwidth is from 0 to 0.9 Hz with an internal noise level of less than 0.002 nT. The AADCII compensates for magnetic noise due to aircraft motion and heading. Prior to the survey, the aircraft is taken to an area of low magnetic gradient at a high altitude (7000’ AGL +) and put through a series of rolls, pitches and yaws on each of the survey’s principle headings. This is done so that the AADCII can form a model of the aircraft’s magnetic characteristics without the near influence of the local geology. The remaining magnetic distortion is quantified by a term known as the Figure of Merit, or FOM. The Geological Survey of Canada uses a figure of merit of 1.5 or less as standard survey criteria. As stated above, this aircraft has an exceptional typical FOM of less than 0.9 nT. C-GJBA flew an FOM flight on April 2, 2004. C-GJBB flew two FOM flights: one May 31 and a second June 4, 2004. The results of these calibration flights are given in Appendix A.

4.3 Magnetic Base Stations Two base magnetometer stations were employed in this survey. Dual stations are useful both as a backup in the case of instrument failure and also to discern any cultural events from either unit. The first base station magnetometer employed was a GEM Systems GSM-19W Overhauser type proton precession magnetometer with GPS time base. This unit logged data to a DAP9800 industrial handheld computer with a compact flash memory card. This battery powered system made use of a solar charger. The system was installed on a private acreage approximately 6 km east of Saskatoon. A radio modem

link was connected to this system and the data transmitted to Goldak’s office so that diurnal conditions could be monitored in real time. The WGS84 UTM Zone 13 location of this installation was 398278E 5776310N

4.3 GPS Positioning System The GPS receiver in the survey aircraft is a Novatel 3151R Propak 12 channel dual-frequency differential unit that communicates directly with the GEDAS system. The base station GPS is also a Novatel 3151R dual-frequency Propak whose data is logged by a battery powered industrial portable computer. A survey grade GPS base antenna and choke ring is used to minimize multi-path errors. The system can be used for differential positioning in either real-time or post-corrected mode. The positioning system also incorporates a Racal Landstar real-time DGPS system that receives real-time differential corrections from an orbiting geo-synchronous communications satellite. The corrections from this device allow 2-5 meter positioning accuracy in real-time. A GPS base station is also recorded data during the survey flight to provide a higher level of accuracy and an independent confidence check to the Landstar RT DGPS system. GPS signals are occasionally “dithered” by the US Department of Defense for security reasons. This dithering can cause positioning errors of up to 100 meters. In addition to dithering, atmospheric and ionospheric effects typically reduce the accuracy of the non-differential positioning to approximately 10 meters RMS. If a suitable stationary GPS receiver on a known, or assumed, position is used to record the apparent errors in the satellite range data, those errors can be used to correct the moving receiver in the aircraft to a an accuracy of 2-5 meters RMS. This compensation process is called differential correction and can be either applied to the moving receiver in real time for higher dynamic accuracy, or applied later to find out where the aircraft was with high accuracy. This is called real-time and post-corrected differential positioning respectively. The base antenna was installed at Goldak Exploration’s office in Saskatoon, SK. This site has been employed in the past and has been proven to provide good satellite coverage in all directions. After installation and acquiring data for approximately 24 hours, the base positions were determined by position averaging, the assumption being after a quantity of time the mean value of the errors will be zero. Further to this processing the base GPS positions were differentially corrected using a reference base GPS positon established in Flin Flon Manitoba (approx. 400 km E). The differentially corrected base GPS positions were determined to be:

4.3 Radar Altimeter Aircraft C-GJBA was equipped with a Thompson CSF ERT-160A altimeter with a range of 0 to 8000 feet and a resolution of 1 meter. A Terra TRA-3000 digital unit with accuracy of ±5 meters in the range of typical survey altitudes was installed as the secondary altimeter. C-GJBB had a Terra TRA-3000 as the primary altimeter with a King KRA-10A installed as a secondary unit.

4.5 Barometric Altimeter Both aircraft were equipped with a Setra model 270 barometric altimeter. This instrument has an accuracy of ±1 meter with a range of -1,000 to 10,000 feet.

4.6 Flight Path Camera The flight path is recorded by a Panasonic GP-KR222 SV hi-resolution colour video camera located in the lower rear fuselage of each aircraft. The video was recorded by a Panasonic AG-1980P SVHS recorder. Data pertaining to position, time, speed, altitude, line number and direction was superimposed in the videotape by a Horita SCT-50 video titler.

4.7 GEDAS Digital Recorder All data was processed and recorded digitally by our GEDAS system. The GEDAS is an industrial rack-mount Intel Pentium based PC computer operating at 233 MHz with multiple hard-drives, IO ports and ADAC devices. The GEDAS system records time, magnetic, and VLF data at 10 Hz. All positioning data is recorded at 1Hz. Data files are organized on a flight-by-flight basis in a proprietary binary format. The data is then converted post-flight to a Geosoft compatible format. Data can be downloaded from the system by either floppy disk or Iomega ZIP disk. Data can be delivered in the field by floppy, ZIP disk, Iomega JAZ disk or CD-ROM.

5. DATA PROCESSING AND PRESENTATION All latitude/longitude positions in the databases are represented in the original WGS84 datum. All projected positions are expressed in the NAD83 datum. UTM coordinates are calculated in Zone 13N.

5.1 Total Field Leveling GOLDAK carried out conventional tie line leveling. This processing consists of the following basic streams: Positioning processing Magnetic leveling Altimeter processing Layout and production of maps All data processing and most of the map layout were done in Geosoft Oasis Montaj. Many custom routines have been developed and used to facilitate the process, particularly in map layout. Each can be discussed separately although there are many interdependencies. Positioning Data GOLDAK corrected the positioning data in the field. This data was acquired using Novatel 12 channel GPS receivers. Post-processing using Waypoint Consulting GrafNav software was done to enhance the positioning accuracy. This step, depending on baseline distance and ionospheric activity, brings accuracy to the 1-meter level. Flight path is also verifiable by the times and positions superimposed on the flight-path videotape. The video overlay generated by the GEDAS data system, displays the following data format: HH:MM:SS.S MM-DD-YY LAT TYPE LON UTME UTMN LOCX LOCY LINE# HAGL COG VEL Were HH:MM:SS.S is the data system time in UTC as set from GPS time at the last line start. MM-DD-YY is the UTC date. LAT and LON are the latest position update from the GPS in decimal degrees. TYPE is either ‘A’ for autonomous, or ‘D’ for a real-time differential type position. UTME and UTMN are the UTM coordinates of the last positioning fix. LOCX and LOCY are the local track coordinates relative to the survey grid origin. LINE# is the line number designation and HAGL is the radar altimeter derived height above the terrain. COG is the GPS indicated track over the ground in degrees true, while VEL is the aircraft velocity in meters per second. It should be noted that the 10Hz clock display is asynchronous from GPS time and may be subject to drift while on line. The clock is reset at the beginning of every line. The method for determining precise video time is to observe the 10Hz clock at the GPS position change just prior to the event of interest. Note the time of that GPS fix from the data file. Advance the video to the event and note the 10Hz clock again. Subtract the first 10Hz time from the first and add that time to the GPS fiducial time.

Magnetic Data The first steps in verifying the magnetic data took place in the field. The base station data was monitored to ensure compliance with the contract specification. The fourth difference was also monitored carefully to find any sudden offsets or other problems in the data. Total Field Levelling The intention of tie line levelling is to apply a smoothly varying function to the measured data which results in the near identical values at the intersections of traverse and control lines. The most significant component of the correction is to accommodate the diurnal variation of the magnetic field and to accommodate altitude errors, GPS positioning errors, and system drift. Levelling of the data consists of the following steps:

1. Iterative application of best fit first and second order linear trends (with outliers removed) on traverse and control lines, successively, until resulting correction approaches zero.

2. Iterative application of long wavelength corrections on traverse and control lines until

correction approaches zero. In this case the correction is determined by applying an Akima spline to intersection mismatches and then filtering the levelling correction using non linear and long wavelength filters to enhance and isolate correction “features” which span several intersections. The lengths of the filters are based on the traverse & control line separations.

3. Force the intersections to match by applying 75% of remaining error to traverse lines and

remainder to the control lines. From this point on all corrections are designed to maintain the equality.

4. Smooth the resulting correction profiles to minimize “excess corrections” (EC). Excess

correction is the high frequency component of the correction profile which corresponds to the intersection interval or less. Two types of corrections are applied, iteratively, until the corrections approach zero:

a. If the sign of the control and traverse EC is the same then both lines are moved to

remove the smaller correction.

b. If an “EC feature” can be found on a line, similar to step 2 above, the feature is removed and the intersecting lines are adjusted to maintain equality.

5. At this point the correction profiles are as smooth as possible, but small corrections to the

network may be necessary to remove along line features which are visible in the second vertical derivative (2VG). These are performed manually on individual intersections, or sets of intersections, with the goal of removing pulls in the 2VG without introducing sharp changes in the leveling network

6. Manual corrections may be necessary between tie lines to remove splining artifacts or

diurnal activity which is too fast to be removed by the tie line network.

Gradient Levelling Tie line leveling doesn’t work as well for gradient data, largely because the sources of error vary at a greater rate than the tie line separation, and there are many more areas where the rate of change is high, magnifying the problem. Instead Goldak Airborne Surveys relies on the fact that the gradients oscillate around zero, and reduces the data to meet that criteria.

1. Data is normalized by scaling by the sensor separation and “flipping” lines of alternating directions. Gradients output by the compensator are left sensor minus the right sensor for lateral (GX) and the average of left and right minus the tail sensor for longitudinal (GY). The normalized GX is orientated so that a positive gradient is produced when the eastern sensor reads a higher value than the western sensor. Likewise the normalized GY is such that a positive gradient indicates a higher value on the northern sensor. On Tie lines the GX and GY channels are interchanged to maintain the relationship. The vertical gradient requires no normalization.

2. Median filter length is determined by experimentation. The goal is to find a filter which

removes all energy from gradient anomalies. A typical result, which was used on this data, is 30 seconds.

3. A baseline for each line is determined by applying the median filter followed by a low pass

convolution filter of equal length. 4. The baseline is removed from the measured gradient to produce the levelled gradient. 5. Gradient is gridded and examined for pulls which can occur when not enough or too much

baseline is removed. Individual lines may be re-filtered to correct. 6. Gradients calculated from the levelled mag can be used at this stage to “tune” the baselines

of the levelled gradients 7. East and North gradients are calculated by rotating the measured levelled gradients.

5.2 Altitude Data Part of the GPS positioning processing involves calculation of the height above sea level. This component of the position is the least reliable, however with suitable care should be accurate to within 2-3 meters. The barometric altimeter is calibrated for the air pressure at the beginning of each flight and allowed to drift from that point. The drift is very similar to the magnetic diurnal in that it varies both in time and in space. It is quite possible that the air pressure would vary significantly from one end of the survey block to the other on a large area. At this point the derived topography was generated for post-processed GPSZ minus radar altitude, gridded and compared with the known topography.

5.3 Digital Data Files Digital data has been provided on ISO CD-ROM in standard Geosoft .GDB format. 5.4 Map Products Goldak Airborne Surveys compiled and plotted the final maps in their Saskatoon office. Maps were plotted in the NAD83 datum, UTM Zone 13. A scale of 1:50,000 was used. The survey area was divided into 6 sections for mapping. The map divisions are denoted below. Two copies of the following maps (one per map division) were delivered on paper media, Geosoft MAP and PDF format.

5.4 Flight Path Video Flight path video for this survey is supplied on VHS tapes, one per flight. Times, positions, direction and speed are overlain on the tape for detailed flight path recovery if required. For this survey video was critical for identifying cultural anomalies.
