Aseptically pour sample into filter unit.

Vacum draw sample through filter.

Remove Peel Plate test cover and observe the filter underneath. Count spots, colony forming units (CFU), in a plate after appropriate incubation time. The number of colonies counted on the filter is the number of bacteria per volume of filtered liquid. For example for 100 mL bottled water the number of spots is CFU/100 mL.

Set-up filteration apparatus grid side up.

Label clear side of plate. Do not label on the 47 mm circular test area.

Pull up cover to expose disk. Rehydrate with 1.5 mL of sterile water or prefered sterile broth in 2 to 3 seconds. Replace cover.

Asceptically recover filterfrom filter apparatus using sterile tweezers.
(3b)
Lift rehydrated plate cover and roll filter, grid side up, ontoprepared disc.
(3c)
Reapply adhesive cover.
(4)
Stack and incubate atappropriate incubation time.
