1. Introduction

1.1 ProjectOverview

Theproject,followinganinterdisciplinaryapproach,aimstoprovideamajorbreakthroughinthefast growingmarket for services for “green” fleets inEUandworldwide, andpresent substantialimpacttothechallengingenvironmentalgoalsofEU.

Toachievetheaim,theprojectdevelopsadvancedinformationandcommunicationstechnologyforreducingenvironmentalimpactofmulti‐modalfleets.Theprojectwillbringtogetherhistoricalandrealtimedataaboutdrivingbehaviour,routinginformationandemissionsmeasurements,andwillprovide enhanced services for optimizing driving behaviour, eco‐routing and supporting multi‐modalfleets.

1.2 WorkPackageObjectivesandTasks

The results of REDUCTION are made publicly available through peer‐reviewed publications,conferencepresentations,pressreleases,webpagesandbrochures.Generatedintellectualpropertyis carefully protected, e.g., patent filling. An exploitation and dissemination plan is specified tomaximize theoutcomeandbenefit of theproject for individualpartners.Partnerswill search forand use existing fleet‐management standards used in the EU. Important contributions to thesestandardsaremadewhereapplicable.

1.3 ObjectiveofthisDeliverable

Thistaskisledbyalthoughallpartnersparticipateindisseminationactivitiespromotingtheirownfindings and results of ongoing research and development. All participantswillmake the resultsavailable to awider audience. Results of the projectwill be presented at high‐level conferences.Along with presenting results at conferences, workshops and publishing in high‐quality peer‐reviewedjournals,resultsandprogressinformationwillalsobepublishedonaweb‐site.Thisweb‐site is used by the consortium to plan and discuss activities related to the project. Publicengagementwillbeenhancedthroughpressreleasesandpresentationstointerestgroups.

Thetaskinvolvesdisseminationactivitiesofallpartnersaboutpromotingtheirfindingsandresultsof on‐going research and development in the project. This document reports on events andpublicationswhereitispossibletomaketheresultsoftheprojectavailabletoapublicaudience.

Inparticular,thedisseminationincludesthefollowingmeansandactivities:

2. DisseminationMeans

2.1 ProjectLogo

Theprojectlogoconveystheproject’saim,meaningandconcept.ThelogoforReductionprojectisconsideredtobeunique,distinctiveandeasytoremember.Itdisplaysaclear ideaofthevalueoftheproject and theunderstandingof itsusermarket.TheReductionproject logo ispresented inFigure1.

The project website was developed before the kick‐off meeting, and is updated timely since itslaunch.Thewebsite address ishttp://www.reduction‐project.eu/.Thewebsitewasdeveloped inEnglish. Figure2presents thehomepageof thewebsite. Inparticular, thewebsite contains thefollowingfeatures:

The project also has a private online sharedworkspace. This area allows partners to access to,uploadanddownloaddocumentsthatarerelatedtotheproject.Thisfolderincludesalldocumentsrelated to the physical meetings held regularly, all minutes from the physical meetings andtelephone meetings, deliverables that have been submitted to the commission, and internaldocuments that have been circulated among the partners. Login user name and password areprovidedtoeachpartner.

2.3 ProjectPoster

A project poster has been designed, in order to support the promotion of the project at publiceventsandworkshops.

Theposterprovidesabriefglanceoftheproject,butconciselypresentsthekeyinformationoftheproject.Inparticular,theposterincludestheprojectnameandacronym,projecttype,program,theproject coordinator, theprojectpartners, objectives, approach, descriptionofwork andexpectedresults.

3. DisseminationEventsSchedulingandReporting

3.1 DisseminationRational

TheoutcomesofReductionprojectaremainlydisseminatedtopublicbyattendingvariousevents,publishing papers and giving presentations in prestigious academic conferences, givingdemonstrationinconferencesandexhibitions,andpublishingarticlesinlocalmedia.

Differentworkpackageshavedifferentmaindisseminationtargets.Forexample,themainobjectiveofWP2istodevelopnovelmachinelearningalgorithmsforcreatingpredictiveanalyticsmodelsforeco‐driving. Thus, the main dissemination targets of WP2 are prestigious machine learningconferencesandjournals,intelligenttransportationsystemindustrylinkages,andlocalnewspapersandmagazines.Therationalforchoosingaspecificconference,event,andexhibitionisdescribedindetailinthefollowingsubsections.

The benefits of these dissemination are raising the public awareness of Reduction project toacademic audience (e.g., publishing papers and giving presentations in prestigious academicconferences),industrialaudience(e.g.,demonstrationsinexhibitions),andcitizens(e.g.,articlesinlocalnewspaperandinterviewsinlocalTV).Further,manyusefulcontactsandcollaborationsareestablishedthroughthevariousdisseminationactivities,detailedbelow.

4. Conclusion

Reductionproject’sdisseminationmethodsdescribed inthisdeliverable illustrate theprogressoftheproject.Inparticular,thelogo,thewebsite,andtheposterhavebeendesignedandlaunchedforReduction project at the beginning of the project. Thewebsite is upgraded timely to reflect the

progressofReductionpartnersintheproject.

Astheprojectmoveson,moreresultsintheformofpublicationsaremadeavailabletothepublic.Reductionpartnersalsoparticipateintensivelyinvariouseventstobroadcasttechnologyinventedand implemented during the project. A significant number of presentations and discussions arecarried in the first year,which allows the project to bemore aware to the public.
