Introduction

RedTacton is a new human area network technology.

It gives us safe and high speed network transmission.

It is completely distinct from wireless and infrared technologies.

It uses the minute electric field emitted on the surface of the huma

body.

A transmission path is formed at the moment a part of the humanbody comes in contact with a RedTacton transceiver

Need of Supersensitive Sensors

The naturally occurring electric field induced on the surface of thhuman body dissipates into the earth. Therefore, this electric fieldis exceptionally faint and unstable.

Photonic electric field sensors are developed.

It is a sensor that bounces a laser beam off of a crystal (electro-optic crystal) and measures the reflected beam. Oscillations in thelectric field surrounding the crystal affect the crystal, which

changes the reflected light's polarization.

Human Safety

Safety is obviously the primary concern before the implementationof this technique.

The transmitting and receiving electrodes of the Red Tactontransceiver are completely covered with insulating film.

So the body of the person acting as the transmission medium iscompletely insulated.

When communication occurs, displacement current is generatedby the electrons in the body because the body is subjected tominute electrical fields.

Advantages

RedTacton does not require the electrode be in direct contact withthe skin.

High-speed communication is possible between two arbitrary poinon the body.

Body-based networking is more secure than broadcast systems,such as Bluetooth which have high range of about 10m.

Network congestion due to fall in transmission speed in multiuser environments is avoided.

Scope

Communication between electronic devices on the human body(wearable computers) and ones embedded in our everydayenvironments can be possible

Wired connection can be replaced.

In the crowded areas such as meeting room due to many usersthroughput can be reduced by packet collision in case of Bluetootand wireless LAN using RED TACTON this problem can be solved.
