For over 65 years, products by BÖRNER
have stood for quality as a result of expert
knowledge. They combine experience with
continuous enhancement and connect
knowledge with advancement. The result
is high quality and versatile Striplights.
BÖRNER Striplights can be used for
consistent, large-scale illumination. They
cater for pleasant lighting in closed rooms:
for example, in sports halls or industry
buildings. Striplights are made to measure,
with a radius and a width of up to 6 meters.
Larger sizes may also be a possibility.
The high-grade material is weatherproof
and impact resistant. It has soundproofing
and manifests a powerful self-cleaning
effect. Excellent thermal properties add
to the advantages of the material.
BÖRNER Striplights comply with the
European safety requirements and can be
fitted out with smoke and heat extraction
(SHE) flaps and ventilation louvers.
3BARREL-SHAPED STRIPLIGHTS MADE TO MEASURE
The barrel shaped Nauheim Striplight
is characterized by its arched form.
Its rise is determined by its spread.
The Striplights can be produced in
customizable widths of between one
and six meters, as well as in endless
lengths.
The glazing is done with polycarbonate
multi-wall sheets. This is in compliance
with the European EN fire protection
guidelines and can be carried out with
different heat insulation and variable
energy and light transmission values.
Natural blank aluminum crossbars with
an AlMgSi-alloy and glass holders
supplied with EPDM-gaskets are used
as supporting structures, which are
connected to one another through
stainless steel screw joints.
The Nauheim Striplight meets the
requirements of the general building
inspectorate approval (abZ), fire
protection, fall-through protection,
normal snow load, hail resistance
and wind uplifting pressure.
4SHE FLAPS FOR EXTRA SAFETY
For the barrel shaped Striplights
flaps, the same materials used for
the high-grade Nauheim Skylights
are also implemented. They can
be manu factured as pure ventilation
dampers with a pneumatic lifting
cylinder or with electric motors
230 V/24 V for ventilation and
exhaust.
SHE flaps ensure higher levels of
safety. They function as smoke and
heat extraction devices and are devel-
oped with an aerodynamic ventilation
area in accordance with DIN 18232.
SHE louvers are checked according to
the requirements of DIN EN 12101-2.
For daily ventilation, pneumatic lift
cylinders or electric motors can be in-
stalled. A combination is also possible.
The flap width is determined by the
grid dimensions of the Striplight.
They can be implemented in a single-
skinned manner or as Striplight double
flaps.

The Nauheim ACRYLUX Striplight
presents itself with an architecturally
pleasing and sashless glazed look.
Its properties: thermally formed,
non-yellowing acrylic glass framed
panels (double-skin panels), surface-
coated, a glare-free design, (UV
resistant) at an angle of 30 degrees.
In a 1,200 millimeter grid, individual
elements are strung together and
connected with macrolon elements.
ACRYLUX Striplights can be produced
in customizable widths of between
one and three meters, as well as with
endless lengths. The heat insulation
of acrylic glass panels is around
2.8 W/m2K, and the sound insulation
is 24 dB. The light transmission values
vary between 84 to 76 percent. In
addition, the ACRYLUX Striplight
including smoke and heat extraction
vents meet the required norms and
has all the necessary certifications.
ACRYLUX STRIPLIGHT FOR MULTIFACETEDNESS
6
ACRYLUX Striplight flaps are made
of a glass fiber reinforced polyester
resin structure with EPDM sealing
and aluminum venting frames. The
glazing corresponds to the acrylic
glass web plates of the Striplight.
A double-walled design has a heat
and cold insulation effect. The grid
dimensions and the Striplight radius
determine width size and curvature.
ACRYLUX Striplights can be manu-
factured as pure ventilation dampers
with a pneumatic lift cylinder or
with electric motors 230 V/24 V
for ventilation and extraction. SHE
flaps function as smoke and heat-
proofing vents and are produced as
rollover flaps with an aerodynamic
smoke extractor in accordance with
DIN 18232 and DIN EN 12101-2.
For daily ventilation, both pneumatic
lift cylinders or electric motors can
be installed. A combination is also
possible.

Striplights with pointed gables or even
Nauheim Gable Roof Striplights are
optimally suited for the roofing of the
entire building or for separate sections
of the roof. They are steplessly variable
both in terms of roof slanting and
width and can be easily integrated
into every existing construction.
Gable Roof Striplights are engineered
with an angle of 20 or 36 degrees,
and they can be produced in flexible
widths of between one and six meters,
as well as with endless lengths. The
glazing is done with polycarbonate
multi-wall sheets. These are in compli-
ance with the European EN fire protec-
tion guideline and can be produced
with different heat insulation and
variable energy and light transmission
values.
Natural blank aluminum crossbars with
an AlMgSi-alloy and glass holders
supplied with EPDM-gaskets are used
as supporting structures, which are
connected to one another through
stainless steel screw joints.
STRIPLIGHTS WITH POINTED GABLES FOR HIGH FLEXIBILITY
8STRIPLIGHT FLAPS WITH POINTED GABLES FOR VARIABILITY
The materials for Striplight flaps
with pointed gables correspond to the
design of the high-grade Nauheim
Gable Roof Striplights: an extruded
aluminum frame construction with
AlMgSi alloy and EPDM- gaskets, as
well as polycarbonate multi-walls as
glazing. The flap width depends on
the grid dimensions of the Striplight.
Striplights can be manufactured for
ventilation purposes alone, with a
pneumatic lift cylinder or with electric
motors 230 V/24 V for ventilation and
exhaust. For smoke and heat extrac-
tion, they are produced as rollover
flaps with an aerodynamic smoke
extracting area in accordance with
DIN 18232 and DIN EN 12101-2.
For daily ventilation, pneumatic lift
cylinders or electric motors can be
installed. A combination of both is
also possible.

AT A GLANCE
10MEASURED RENOVATION ENSURES DURABILITY
Roof structures made ofwire-rein-
forced glass, as used in railway sta-
tions or many industrial buildings, will
require renovation as time goes by
due to environmental and climatic
conditions. However, new require-
ments for heat insulation in order to
save energy and SHE vent require-
ments will require renovation.
BÖRNER experts have a comprehen-
sive knowledge and expertise in the
renovation of wire-reinforced glass
roof structures resulting from years of
experience. The economical efficiency
of redevelopment is also always a
point of consideration: Existing sub-
structures are considered and fully
operational usage is not hindered.
Professional renovation ensures the
durability of the roof light structures.
BÖRNER delivers the necessary build-
ing blocks for this.

11WIRE-REINFORCED GLASS PERMANENTLY RENOVATED
Increasing energy costs and environ-
mental awareness have also pushed
the need for the renovation of roof
lights: Much energy is wasted due to
old single-skin wire-reinforced glass
glazing with a thermal transmittance
value of more than 8 W/m2K and
enormous leakages due to open sur-
roundings. Modern multi-wall sheets
with new glass holders and EPDM
gaskets reduce usage and save costs.
Old support structures made of
non-corrosion-proof steel beams can
be considered as a potential risk:
Corrosion and material fatigue can
increase the risk of structural collapse
and other accidents. New support
structures made of natural blank
Aluminum frames with AlMgSi alloy
ensure the required safety.
Multi-wall sheets and support con-
structions can be changed and re-
newed, if required. New side ridges
additionally provide a pleasing view
of the Striplight. Renovating meas-
ures can be carried out during normal
operation.
