Your yellow top recycling bin is emptied fortnightly on the same day as your normal rubbish collection.

Verge collections - green waste and junkThe City collects green waste twice a year and general junk once a year. You will be notified of the date for your collection via a flyer in your letterbox approximately 10 days prior to the collection date. Do not put any items on your verge until you are invited to do so via flyer. Waste placed on the verge outside of the allocated collection time is classed as a verge obstruction and can incur a littering fine (maximum penalty $5000). Junk collections have a designated weekend.

Free disposal of: Engine oil (up to 20 litres) Car batteries White Goods Glass bottles and jars Aluminium drink cans Clean paper and flattened cardboard Scrap metal Firewood (up to 400mm blocks) Small appliances, eg. toaster, vacuum cleanerOnly loads containing above items receive FREE disposal. Any other items will attract a charge.

MulchMulch is available to residents from the Hopkinson Road Landfill & Recycling Facility, while stocks last. Residents can load their own trailers up to 3m3 for free or can have their trailer loaded by machine for a fee between 9am - 4pm.City of Armadale residents who are pensioners can have trailers loaded by machine on Tuesday mornings between 9am - noon at no charge.

your wheelie bin Bins MUST be out by 7am each collection day. Do not leave bins out overnight. Bins stolen or damaged whilst left out overnight will only be replaced at the ratepayer’s expense. Bins exceeding 70kg cannot be lifted by the truck. Bins are not transferable so must remain on the property. The following must NOT be placed in your Waste or Recycle Bins:

• Soil, rock, gravel, sand, bricks or building materials.• Wood or tree stumps, large branches or sticks.• Car or engine parts.• Containers with oil, paint or chemicals in them.• Hot ashes.• Batteries, CFLs and e-waste.

Recycling bins containing non-recyclables will not be emptied. Please see overleaf for correct items. Bins MUST be returned inside property by end of bin collection day.
