    ProgramsforthedesignofelastomerbearingswerecreatedbyVivanEngenhariaandwereextensivelytested.OtherwiseVivanEngenhariadonotassumesresponsibilitiesforvalidityresults.

    VivanEngenhariainformstouserthatprogramisagivenfacilityandanadditionaltool.Butthefinalevaluationmustbebyengineerwhoisthedefinitivelyjudgewhenchoosingdimensionsofbearingsinverifications.

    Theprogramutilizationdonotdispenseresultsverificationbythedesignengineer.

    Wheredeflectionunderloadiscriticaltothedesignofstructure,ortothebearingfunction,thestiffnessofbearingshouldbeascertainedbytests.

    Therearetwoprograms:oneforthedesignoflaminatedbearingsandotherforthedesignofplainpadbearing.InEnglishversion,program'sunitsare:stressesinMPa;forcesinkNanddimensionsinmm.Programsconsiderhorizontalloadsandrotationsinlongitudinaldirectionofstructure.

    Programsaresubjectedtomodificationswithoutpreviousadvice.

    DESIGNHIPOTESISUSEDINPROGRAMS

    LaminatedelastomerbearingsdesignprogramsconsiderEuronormstandardinstructions.Howtheresultsofbearingdeflectionsmaypresentsignificantvariations,rotationstabilityisverifiedadditionallybyUIC-CodeinstructionsandalsoadoptedbyBrazilianStandardNBR9062-1985.ThedesignofplainpadbearingsconsiderresultsofBrazilianexperience,complementedbyEN1337.UIC-CodeanCNR(ItalianStandard).

    Programconsiderresolutionofonlyoneloadcondition.

    Programsupposesonlypositiveverticaldeadloads,positiveresultantverticalloadsandpositivehorizontalloadsanddisplacements.

    Rotationsaresupposedexactlywithsignalsasgivenbytheengineeringdesignresults.

    Incaseofsumofrotationswithoppositesignalswithresultnearzero,itisrecommendedconsideravariationabout1,1inmajormodulusrotationand0,9inminormodulusrotation.

    Thetoleranceforsurfacelevelingis0,003radforpre-frabicated(steelorconcrete)structuresand0,010forcastinplacestructures.Whenbearinginstallationerrorprevisionisgreaterthanallowabletolerance,wehavetoaddresidual

    permanentrotation.Forexample,ifbearinginstallationprecisionprevisionunderaprecastedbearingis0,010rad,wehavetoconsideraresidualpermanentrotation,inthemostunfavorablesenseof0,010rad-0,003rad=0,007rad.
