SHOW WEEK ORDER: Monday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 4 - Regular class at Dance Studio M Wednesday, June 5 - Dress Rehearsal at Solon High School Auditorium

Thursday, June 6 and Saturday, June 8 - Tech Rehearsal at Dance Studio M Sunday, June 9 - Annual Recital at Solon High School Auditorium 1:00 pm and 5:30 pm

Recital: Dance Studio M's 2019 recital, “THIS IS CLE” will be Sunday, June 9 at Solon High School Auditorium with two performances, 1:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Dancers should refer to the RECITAL INFORMATION page in this packet to determine in which show they will be participating. All dancers are required to stay until the end of the show for Curtain Call (when dancers come on stage for final bows). Each show will be approximately two to two-and-a-half hours long, including one 15 minute intermission. We ask that dancers and audience members stay for the ENTIRE show out of respect for the other performers.

3-5 year old Classes: “Take me Out to the Ballgame” and “Let’s Go to the Movies” are strategically placed at the beginning

of the shows. Dancers in this class may be seated with their parents prior to the start of the show. They will be called up to the stage to perform their dance. After the dancers are done performing, the house lights will be brought up so dancers can be escorted to the reserved section in the front rows where they will sit with their parents for the remainder of the show. We ask that ONE parent come up to the stairs of the stage to meet your child.

During the Show: On the days of the shows, please arrive 30 minutes prior to show time. Dancers should come in their first costume and full hair and make-up. All dancers should report to their assigned dressing room. Please, no male parents or guests are allowed in the girls dressing area. All dancers will be assigned a dressing room space during the show. Younger dancers will be monitored at all times by volunteers who will also help with hair and makeup. Please send your dancer with games, cards, coloring books, water and dry snacks (such as pretzels). No other food or drink is permitted. ***It is imperative that everyone mark ALL of their belongings with their initials. This includes shoes, costumes, hair pieces, etc. We are not responsible for anything left behind at Solon High School.

End of the Show: Dancers are NOT permitted to leave until after Curt ain Call. Parents of children age 10 and under will receive a “pass” to go backstage to receive their child. Passes will be given once you’ve paid your final balance. Students who are in “Junior” or “Teen” level classes will not receive a pass.

Only one female parent or trusted adult will be allowed access backstage to receive their child and it will only be granted with your pass. We do this for your child's safety! With so many people in our audience and backstage, we don't want anyone to get hurt, lost or there to be confusion between parents. Please DO NOT LOSE your pass!! For safety and security reasons, no one is allow ed backstage during intermission. PARENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO TAKE THEIR DANCERS AT INTERMIS SION! Technical Rehearsal: Technical Rehearsal will be held on Thursday, June 6 and Saturday, June 8 at DANCE STUDIO M. Please see the Technical Rehearsal on pages 9-10 in this packet for more information and specific times for your dances. If dancers do not attend technical rehearsal, they WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the recital. NO EXCEPTIONS! Dress Rehearsal: Dress Rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, June 5 from 4:30– 8:30 p.m. at Solon High School and is MANDATORY! If dancers do not attend dress rehearsal, they WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the recital. NO EXCEPTIONS! Dancers should arrive in full hair and make-up in t heir first costume listed on the Dress Rehearsal Schedule on page 11 in this packet. Please wear a button-down shirt over your costume so that it doesn't get dirty. Dress Rehearsal will be run in the exact order listed on the Dress Rehearsal Schedule. All dancers will only be allowed to run their dance ONE time. We will NOT wait for anyone! If you are not there, your class will continue without you and you will not be permitted to dance in the recital. Once you are finished with your last dance you a re free to leave.

Make-up/Hair: All hair and make-up specifications can be found on your “Costume Sheet” or on the Recital Information Page. Please keep this sheet with your costume so that you can reference it on show weekend. Proper hair and make-up make for a professional show!! What do we mean by Stage Make-Up? Stage Make-Up should be applied heavier than average make-up so that it can be seen under the stage lights. Make-up should include foundation (please match to your skin tone), powder, lipstick (deep red colors), eye shadow (deep browns or purples) eyeliner (black or brown), mascara, and blush (deep reds or pinks). How should my hair look? Hair should be slicked to your head with hair gel and hairspray. NO FLYAWAYS!! All hair must be off your face and buns must be secure with hairnets!! *Reminder: Dancers should NOT wear underwear under their tights! It causes bulges and looks very

unprofessional!

Pictures/Videography: All dancers will be able to have their group and individual pictures taken at the Technical Rehearsal. Order forms will be available during the month of May at the studio reception desk. Dancers who are not listed to participate in the technical rehearsal (Extras) may schedule a time to have their pictures taken on this day as well. Please contact Kathy in order to schedule a time. Competition Teams have been assigned times during each day of Technical Rehearsal for photos. See the Technical Rehearsal on pages 9-10 in this packet. Both recitals will be professionally filmed by DSM Productions. The video will be available as a DVD or you may purchase a Digital/Streaming copy. Order forms will be available during the month of April at the studio reception desk and on our website.

T-shirt Order Forms: Please find the attached order form for show t-shirts. They are great souvenirs! The shirts will be LIGHT BLUE and will have the program cover on the front as well as all the dancer’s names listed on the back. Please get your order in by the deadline. The studio does NOT order any extra shirts. Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers to scan tickets, pass out programs, usher patrons to seats and assist backstage. Please see the volunteer sheet in this packet if you are interested in helping out!

There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, May 9 at 6:15 pm . The meeting should last approximately a half hour. Volunteers will be given instructions on their assignments during this time. We often have more volunteers than jobs. You will be notified if you are selected for a position. Please know that we appreciate your time and commitment! Tickets :

DSM uses a ticketing service, Dance Recital Ticketing, for the June recital. All tickets will be reserved seating. The venue holds 1100 seats, so sell out conditions should not exist.

1. How to order tickets: Tickets go on sale April 29 at 10:00 am. To order recital tickets go to DanceStudioM.com and select the Tickets tab. Tickets are $16 pre-sale (plus $1.65 convenience fee per ticket). You will need a credit or debit card to purchase tickets. Tickets may be purchased for either show on the same order.

2. How to claim your complementary tickets: Once you have paid your yearly account balance, you will receive a promo code via your emailed receipt. Enter this code on the checkout page at the time of purchase to get your two complementary tickets. Additional tickets may be purchased at this time.

3. How to select seats? You will be able to select your seats from the Solon High School Auditorium seating chart. On the day of the show, our volunteer ushers will assist you to your seat. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis, so buy early to get better seats!

4. How do the tickets work? Once your order has been placed, you will receive a receipt with a link where you can then download and print your tickets. Dance Recital Ticketing will also send you a reminder 4 days prior to the recital to make sure that you go in and print your tickets. YOU MUST BRING A PRINTED TICKET WITH YOU TO THE SHOW.

5. May I buy tickets at the door? Pending availability, tickets may be purchased at the door for $18 per ticket.

Should you need any assistance in ordering tickets, have any problems, questions, or concerns, please feel free to call Dance Recital Ticketing Support at 706-550-1416 Option 1. For parents of the 3-5 year olds:

In order for you to obtain seats at the front of the auditorium, you will be able to purchase tickets beginning April 22 at 10:00 am , one week in advance of the general sale. Make sure to pay your account balance prior to this date in order to receive your promo code. If you are on recurring payment we will be drafting your payments a week early so that you are able to purchase pre-sale tickets. Please purchase tickets in the reserved section for your immediate family only, as we have limited seating available. Should you fail to purchase your tickets before April 29, any tickets in the reserved section will be released to the general public. Technical Rehearsal at Dance Studio M:

Technical rehearsal is MANDATORY for everyone listed on the schedule. Each class is assigned a ten-minute time frame in

which they will run their dance twice. We will have a photographer on site for group and individual pictures. Dancers will

be able to get their pictures taken immediately after their tech time.

*Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time

*If we run ahead of schedule, we'll take the next group in the order

*We will not wait for anyone!

*Dancers are to arrive in full costume, hair, and make-up ready to perform.

To avoid chaos, we ask that all family members please stay in the lobby.

OUR PHOTOGRAPHER WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE DURING DRESS REHEARSAL.

A fun way to congratulate your dancer on their performance is to dedicate a Well Wisher to them in the program!

Well Wishers can be given to your child, teacher or to your friends. You can choose from one of the pre-made boxes

below, or you can create a custom design!
