Karen Faye was the daughter of Henry and Clarine (De Vries) Westra. She was raised at Sioux Center, Sheldon, and Orange City.

As an adult, she made her home in Orange City, where she served as a teachers’ aide at the Maurice –Orange City Elementary School. She also worked as a hairdresser for several years.

Karen was a member of the First Reformed Church in Orange City. She enjoyed cooking and attending M-OC activities.

Survivors include her daughter, Carissa Brunemeier, of Orange City; and special cousins, Hope and Rick Cameron, of Sioux Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Lee Westra.

Following the commital service at the cemetery, relatives and friends are invited to join the family

in the First Reformed Church fellowship hall for lunch and fellowship.

Memorials may be directed to the Heart Fundor the Cancer Society.
