Structure

Adjectives are words that describe or modify another person or thing in the sentence.

The Articles a, an, and the are adjectives.

Use of adjectives

Adjectives

We use an adjective to describe the qualities of people, things, places, etc.

Ex : Can you see the young woman at the end of the street?He's a great singer.

We use an adjective (not an adverb) after 'linking' verbs such as be, become, feel, seem, smell, sound, look, etc.

Ex : It looks scary. It tastes delicious. His ideas are interesting.

We can use an adjective to describe the object of a sentence.

Ex : His answer made his boss angry.

Use of adjectives

Direction: One representative from each group read the sentence in teacher’s notebook. Then, act out. The members from each group have to guess what the picture is about and write the answer on the piece of paper.
