Electronic Devices Enhance Reaching for the STARS VISD’s experience this year has consisted of maintaining resiliency in times of legislative uncertainty, adhering to new statewide testing procedures and policies, and working together as a team. As educators, our staff members realize they are not alone because districts throughout the state and nation are collectively facing the same issues. VVISD employees seek to not look to their own interests but each to the interests of others. We serve our students, parents, and community members with diligence. Our mission at VVISD, as we begin planning for the next school year, is to continue reaching for the stars while helping our students shine and prepare for their future pathways. Van Vleck ISD proudly accepted a

$4,000 grant for books that were

donated from First Book. Books

were presented to teachers to give

as gifts to students several times

throughout the year.

VVISD is honored to recognize

four individuals for their completion of higher education degrees during 2011-2012: Denise Grisham – Master of Education in Administration; Michelle Weathers – Master of Education in Counseling; Amy Ging – Master of Education in Administration; and Christie Dement – Master of Education in Administration.

Kindergarten Rodeo Fun

SEVERAL VVHS Students put Van

Vleck on the map while reaching their

highest potential on the STATE level

of competition: FFA – Dakota

Bramble, Megan Stell, Coleman Franz, and Bailye Foltyn;

Powerlifting – MaKayla Hubbard; Track – Kalvin

Singletary & Malea Polk; and Academic UIL – Trevor

Smith.

Led by Kindergarten teachers: Barbara

Evanicky, Cyndy Stanley, and Deborah Story,

the Van Vleck Elementary Kindergarten

students had a grand ole’ time at this year’s

Kindergarten Rodeo!

Every year OH Herman Middle School

students look forward to the 8th

grade

spring dance.

The Annual Employee Banquet is held each

spring to recognize the efforts and years of

service VVISD educators work to educate

our students. Each campus voted for the

Van Vleck I.S.D. would like to honor three

influential women who dedicated several

years of their lives to educating the

students at Van Vleck ISD.

Mrs. Lenora Krueger was loved by all and

said she enjoyed every minute of her career.

She taught several Leopards over the years

as well as the children of some of her

original Leopards.

Dr. Eva Malina said she was ready to be a

Leopard when she was hired by Mr. John

O’Brien many years ago to teach at OH

Herman Middle School. She enjoyed

teaching Math and working with everyone at

VVISD.

Mrs. Elizabeth Sidney said she enjoyed her

years at the Business Office as well as her

years as secretary at E. Rudd Intermediate.

She developed life friendships with several

people over the years.

These women will be greatly missed and we

truly wish them all the best.
