Qur’an and Qaidah ClassesBeginner Qaaidah Group

Our beginner Qaaidah group have been focusing on the different forms of letters since they started in September. Methods of recognising letters and accurate articulation have been of paramount importance to ensure the foundations of Qaaidah are strong. The plan is for the group to move on to vowels during this term where the children will be assisted in learning by acting out the sounds they make. This will ensure lessons are engaging as well as educational.

Intermediate Qaaidah Group

The progress made by our intermediate Qaaidahgroup has been very good through the first term of the year. The concepts of sounds (the three Harakahs and all lessons linked to them including Tanween sounds and short Madd) have mainly been covered. The next steps are towards the lessons that include joining letters (Sukoon and

Shaddah) after which they will move on to long Madd by the end of the term, Insha-Allah.

Advanced Qaaidah Group

Having studied the main concepts of Qaaidah, the advanced Qaaidah pupils are completing the final few lessons which cover the topics of Waqfand fluency in verses. They are close to the very

exciting stage of moving on to the Quran and JuzAmma. They will achieve this great milestone during the spring term, Insha-Allah.

Beginner Quran Group

The intermediate Quran group started JuzAmma at the beginning of the year. Their target for the term was to develop in fluency with support (reciting after the teacher) with the aim of becoming independent reciters.

Tajweed rules will continue to be introduced to the pupils to ensure recitation is of the highest standards.

Advanced Quran Group

After completing the rules of Tajweed, our morning advanced Quran class consolidated these rules during the first term of the year. Proficiency in the identification and implementation of Tajweed rules along with fluency in recitation means the pupils are ready to move on to the pivotal stage of their Quranic studies. Many of the children have learnt at least Juz Amma (Chapter 30) by heart using

tajweed rules. The natural step forward will be to achieve the ultimate goal of the Quran which is to understand the words of Allah. The pupils will be provided with a specially designed Quran made to allow students to write noteworthy points. Pupils will be taught about the meanings of significant words and explanations of selected verses with age related content for better understanding, Insha-Allah.
